    1) Vitali does not even make it out of camp, retires.
    2) Vitali has to quit in his corner during the fight due to injury.

In his Prime, I'd pick Vitali to win, but after a 3 year layoff, I do not see Vitali winning against a young Peter.

Even Vitali at 50% is still far too much for the crude Sam Peter to handle..

The division is probably far beyond repair, but I think that a Peter victory would be much better for the big guys. Then at least you've got Wlad wanting to exact revenge for his brother's defeat, even though that's pretty well played out (see Chris Byrd, Corrie Sanders, Ross Purity...). Plus, there's a shot at unification if Peter wins, whereas, if Vitali wins, unification will not happen. The brothers Klitschko won't fight each other, and I don't blame them for that.

I, for one, am glad this fight is happening. First of all, whether or not the layoff makes a big difference, I like that Vitali is getting a title shot--he never did lose the belt.

Secondly, it's not like this is a gross mismatch. Vitali in his prime would probably handle Peter, but then again the pot-bellied golfer Corrie Sanders had some solid moments against him, and he came in to that fight in horrendous shape. Peter has more than a mere puncher's chance, but it's not like Vitali will box his ears off. He won't be at his best and that's good for the competitiveness of this fight.

Thirdly, this fight should produce solid action. Vitali has always been more willing to engage than Wlad, and, well, if you saw his fights against Lennox and Sanders, we could be in for a good one, no matter how sloppy. Lewis-Vitali was one of the sloppiest fights I've ever seen, but it was a great slugfest.

Finally, I think Wlad could jab his way to another snoozer win over Peter, so I'd rather see Peter fight Vitali anyway. Wlad will hopefully take a fight against Povetkin over the summer to pass the time, and that one could be interesting because Povetkin will force the issue--unlike anyone who has fought Wlad since Peter.

Peter winning is better in the sense it sets up the second Wlad fight. (Edit: in terms of unification and revenge factor)

But Peter winning also keep DK in the picture, which is the worst possible thing. The most important thing in HW is that whoever is signed to King must lose. He's the one to blame for all the troubles.

If Peter wins, he needs to fight Wlad without any options in the contract for King. . . . but that's unlikely. And so Peter will never fight Wlad, and people will argue about who is ducking whom.

If (and it's a big IF) Vitali can manage to get through training with out getting hurt, I think he will KO Sam Peter. I don't think Vitali can get through camp w/o getting hurt though. He will pull out last minute again like he has the past 4 or however many ****ing times.

I've got nothing against Vitali but he can't keep getting fights like this and pulling out at the last minute after his opponent has trained his ass off for weeks. If Vitali can't fight on the scheduled date for this fight then he should be out of the picture and not receive any more title shots.

You have to realize that Vitali was not the one who put the long hold on the Emeritus status, it was Oleg Maskaev, who would have been squashed even worse by Vitali. Dont blame him for wanting an immediate title shot that he was rightfully appointed and couldnt get because of delays that were out of his control. The boxing world should be happy that he is coming back. Do you think that Vitali would have let Ibragimov survive the full 12 rounds 3 weeks ago? NO, he wouldnt have. He is very skilled in an awkward way, has never been knocked down legally as a pro and has like a 97% KO ratio. If anyone thinks that Vitali is doing something that they wouldnt do, is either ****** or a liar.

I just wonder after this layoff how he'll look. Back in his prime there would be no doubt and I would pick Vitali. Now you never know how that ring rust will show up. Plus with all his injuries you wonder if the fight is even going to happen. In a way I wish Vitali would just stay retired and let his little brother clear out the division.
