Who gives a damn? The man was fast enough, with lightening relfexes, not to get hit. His jaw was certainly strong enough to take some punches from a full fledged heavyweight, among others. Had Roy retired at 34, there wouldn't be any question about his jaw, and it would be hard to picture anyone beating him in his prime. To me, it still is.

But if he retired at heavyweight... he would of never matched what Bob Fitsimmons did 106 years earlier...

Go from middleweight to heavyweight, and then BACK DOWN to light heavyweight and win...

ROy wouldnt of accomplished what he set out to accomplish...

After he beat tarver the 1st time he should of retired... knowing it was his worst performance, and his body went through hell to keep his weight down after adding all that muscle...

I already knew that off of memory, because of The Ring's issue of "Greats of the Game" back in 2001 with guys like Jones, Hopkins, Morales, Trinidad, Tyson, Rahman

Hagler was 34 in that fight and slowened down so I don't think it's a valid comparison. He had only fought twice in the last 2-3 years before the fight with Leonard.

Take Hagler from the early 80's vs Roy Jones and it's a better fight.

There are conflicting reports saying 1954 and 1952 for Hagler's birthdate.

The prevailing notion is that the real date is 1954, as Hagler falsified his age to be 2 years older to enter a tournament.
