If Roy was as good as other people say he was, then he would have made the division look weak.

Personally, I think his athleticism is unmatched as a middleweight. Such natural skill at hitting his opponents from unorthodox angles-with power. I won't go into the "GOAT" thing because there are so many intangibles in comparing fighters of different eras (incluiding the judging attitude of their respective eras).

The judging attitute of the era greatly affects a fighter's record.

Yeah the TS praised Gerald McClellan in another thread and the last time I checked, the G-Man was black. More often than not, race has nothing to do with someone disliking a certain boxer.

I think the TS believes that Roy Jones was lucky because he did not have to face punchers like Gerald McClellan, Nigel Benn and Julian Jackson and he might be right.
One clean punch from those three could have put Roy's lights out, glass chin or not (I don't think Roy had a 'glass' chin).

This does not mean Roy Jones was overrated. He had a great career.

McClellan vs Roy Jones would have been a great rivalry that could have enhanced the legacy of both fighters.

To keep it real with ya... its some blacks hating on him like no other race. So I cant just say it the whites. Hell... some of everybody hates Mayweather. (blacks, whites, asian, latinos, arab, ect.) Its not fair to just point out one race homie. I'm black and I have to disagree. Some of the white posters defend them like us fans do so I thinks its unfair to say that.(just my opinion)

If its only 3 rounds,then you cant make a judgement on how a fight would have gone over 12 rounds because Gerald could have faded as the fight went on and Roy could have opened up more and take advantage of Gerald tiring.

I think Roy beats Leonard, Hagler and Hearns

Im a big Ray Leonard fan,but at 160 Roy has the advantage in speed and power. I think he would outbox Hagler and Duran is simply to small for Roy.

Hearns vs Roy would have been a interesting fight,but i think roy have found a way to take away that right hand. I could also see Roy landing straight right hands on Tommy all night long.

I wasn't saying that in order to argue that Roy Jones did not made a division look weak, but to highlight that some of the arguments against him are self defeating. If he's as good as some people say he is, then it is reasonable that he will make the division look weak.

Maybe I'm not making myself clear enough.
