because hopkins had 20 title defenses... roy had no longevity at MW

but wins over hopkins and toney are more impressive than wins over delahoya and trinidad and those are hopkins biggest fights at middleweight

          toney was at smw

your argument is based on roy at mw

roys only notable win at mw was bernard... he had 4 title defenses and moved up to smw

bernard stayed at mw for 10+ years and had 20 title defenses

as far as pure MW career stats go... Bernard > Roy

I still think roy was a better fighter at MW then bernard ever was... but thats not the argument...

I'd bet willing to bet that the creator of this thread has not seen more than five RJJ fights, and more than likely they were ones when he was past his best. It's hilarious when people talk about his glass jaw, when he didn't get stopped until he was 35 years old.

Who gives a damn? The man was fast enough, with lightening relfexes, not to get hit. His jaw was certainly strong enough to take some punches from a full fledged heavyweight, among others. Had Roy retired at 34, there wouldn't be any question about his jaw, and it would be hard to picture anyone beating him in his prime. To me, it still is.
