Not taking away from him, or I don't mean to seem like I'm taking away to sell him short. I just mean, that's how one could argue that they are better than him at this moment. In the long run, it's hard to tell at this point.
Yeah I definitely maintain he's not the same fighter, lol. Evidenced by the knockout loss to Glen Johnson. I mean ok.......Tarver cold ****ed him but how in the hell did he end up laying on the canvas for ten minutes after getting caught by the tough as nails yet extremely 1 dimmensional and nowhere near his level fighter? That's not good.

That's a tell tale sign of being what's called washed up.

And yeah the reflex thing is the deal and he lost some of his athleticism. I do think it's enough to knock Trinidad out though. But then again, that becomes smoke and mirrors because if Roy did take other fights he'd probably get his ass beat. Well for instance the winner of Dawson/Johnson. I think Dawson will shock people by whipping Johnson's ass despite all this hype and he'll go on to be the future heir. Well anyways I think he'd spank Roy.

It's one thing to fight the Hanshaw but he's no Dawson.

Yeah. Though, if Dawson and Jones could both win impressively. It'd be a nice, passing of the torch fight. It'd do wonders for Dawsons career. Who knows? I got Jones and Dawson in their upcoming fights, aswell.

RJJ: “I don't know yet. I would fight Glen Johnson, Antonio Tarver, Chad Dawson—I don't care. Let me tell you one more time, my time, my probation period is over. I don't care who he is. Line them up and I'll go to them. I don't care where he's at. If we have to go to London to fight Joe, if we have to go to Tampa to fight Tarver, or if we have to go to Miami to fight Glen. I don't care. My name is Roy Jones Jr. I am Superman and I don't care about anybody else.”

If both happen to win impressively this fight means something again. Roy Jones would be an underdog.

I hope Roy does well just to shut some of you haters up. It's pathetic. Every fighter who fights long enough falls from grace one way or the other. Now he's trying to give it one more run and all I see is hate for the man.

Because he beat his resume against no one's and has beens and acts as if he's the second coming. His two best wins were against one guy who was totally dead at the weight and one guy that wasn't half the fighter he was to become. People hate him because he had all the talent in the world and he wasted it. And this fight, with Tito, is a complete waste of time.

Roy is still the man. He is not quite what he once was, but he is still very efficient and he has still has some of the quickest hands in the sport. He just doesn't have the lateral movement like he once had. He destroys Trinidad on the 19th and I look for him to fight the winner of Calzaghe/Hopkins next. I still believe Roy, I ain't forgot!

So now you admit that you did think Roy will be fighting for Titles again?
The first fight with Tarver was debatable was it not and therefore the reason for the Re-match where Roy got KTFO.
Roy also tried his hardest to avoid that re-match by trying to have Tarver removed as his mandatory or is your memory of history failing you?
Also you say Roy can still impress....can you please tell me when he was impressive against stellar competition since his last loss.
I didn't see anything in the pair of no-hopers he beat.
Roy WAS A BIG NAME but as far as current events go he isn't on anyone's radar at the top.
And he cannot demand any real size of the purses anymore.
He should hang them up before he gets hurt or embarrasses himself anymore.
Roy most likely will fight for titles again if he beats trinidad because he is a still a big name and old one but a big one. Many of the fighters would love a big name like Jones on there resume because it looks good.
I do think Roy can still impress but not to the same stature that he used to and against subpar competition he's still a good fighter just not a great one. He has enought left in the tank for another big win but if he doesn't thats it a guy's gotta know when he's got nothing left.
