It's sad because Roy Jones has become the portrait of an old fighter.

You mentioned Calzaghe & Dawson for a start who currently are ...Title Holders...
If Joe moves up to 175 I am sure he will gain another title.
So if you are saying you want to see Roy Vs these 2 then that inevitably means a ....Title shot ...does it not?
Roy tried to redeem his loss to Tarver and guess what...he lost.

Oscar DLH gets title shots left and right because.........ummmm..........he is an enormous name in this sport. Roy is an enormous name in this sport and will get a shot as anyone he wants to fight. Why did Erik Morales get a shot at David Diaz? It's just the way the sport is but I don't care about titles I care about matchups. Tarver can be Roy's kryptonite but if you watched the first fight Roy still handeled him. Roy can still impress and as a fan I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in the near future.

Don King: “He wanted the best. I can tell you that right now. I sat with Tito and his father in Puerto Rico. We would make money from beating Floyd Mayweather but we wouldn't get any prestige from beating Floyd Mayweather. Roy Jones is the giant on the scene. He is the biggest name and he has history attached to it. Going beyond the payday and adding to his legacy at the same time. This is what counts.”
          Don King is hilarious.

Wasn't Tito going to fight Floyd at 160. That was strictly for the payday and Tito would have LOST.

You honestly call the first match-up a fight where ROY handled anything? He laid on the ropes the majority of the night and got punched/punched at. I don't care if he won the fight or not. If he SHOULD have or not. You honestly think that was a fight that Jones should even consider a good night? Or even a night that he handled a person? Honestly?

It wasn't a great showing but Roy clearly won the bout. Maybe I am grasping at straws but I still believe Roy has enough left to make some noise before he hangs them up.

You have gone off on a tangent here pal.
So now you admit that you did think Roy will be fighting for Titles again?
The first fight with Tarver was debatable was it not and therefore the reason for the Re-match where Roy got KTFO.
Roy also tried his hardest to avoid that re-match by trying to have Tarver removed as his mandatory or is your memory of history failing you?
Also you say Roy can still impress....can you please tell me when he was impressive against stellar competition since his last loss.
I didn't see anything in the pair of no-hopers he beat.
Roy WAS A BIG NAME but as far as current events go he isn't on anyone's radar at the top.
And he cannot demand any real size of the purses anymore.
He should hang them up before he gets hurt or embarrasses himself anymore.

The doubters are why he continues to fight. They say he has nothing left so he is out there to prove something. Time will tell if he will fall flat on his face or if he will rebound again. I for one will be waiting in anticipation.

Yeah no Hopkins is not a better fighter than Roy. That's ridiculous.

I mean the same master boxer counter puncher MW champ looks completely robotic when in the ring with him. Roy makes guys like Toney and Bhop look average when he comes to fight. And let's get realistic that's just the truth.
