RJJ was KO'd by two guys that Bernard absolutely dominated, and his losses to Jermain Taylor are highly controversial which in my eyes means Bernard>RJJ. If you dont think Bernard got much better after that fight with Jones then whoever thinks that is dillusional

alright i agree with u ... bernard definitely dominated two guys that knocked out jones... and i also agree bernard did get a lot better in a few areas as he progressed after the jones bout... however i have to go with style of fight on this one and I just think roy benefits more from the contrasts of style... but i dont knock bernard i think the things hes done in his career, while some may say this or that, it is definitely a career of an elite fighter...

I honestly feel that very soon his age will start to show, not saying that it hasn't already... nobody escapes father time, but i give bernard a lot of credit for going this far... im also not saying roy hasnt lost 60%+ of his tank also... but if you just put all thos elittle facts aside, and forget who dominated who and knocked out this guy that that guy didnt and etc ectc etc... if the two were to get in the ring tomorrow night.... i think roy would win.. just my personal opinion

i think roys style by holding up the right lead to block site of the jab would slow bernard down, and i dont think bernards legs are gonna move fast enough for roy not to counter him coming in... yes even now.. and i also dont think a 43 yr old fighter has the reflexes to get out of the way of even todays hand speed of roy... to me A LOT has slowed in roys arsenal, but his hand speed seriously remains... but i know bernards a very smart fighter... im basing this on his last fight with winky, i just wasnt impressed with how he handled that fight

RJJ beat Bhop a long time ago while both fought Tarver just recently and using tarver as a common denominator makes bhop the clear winner. BTW, taylor's 2 wins against are controversial which makes using them as basis very difficult. On the other hand, Pavlik whoop taylor very convincingly.

did anyone here watch the antonio tarver that fought roy... and antonio tarver that fought bernard.... am i the only one that noticed this was not the same fighter... and that he REALLY DID weigh 220lbs for the rocky vI movie and had to lose 45 lbs to make weight.... he looked, like roy looked, when they fought... and im honestly not being biased here... it sincerely looked like that... tarver wasnt moving, he had no snap, no reflexes, no counter... when he fought roy he was ON TOP OF HIS GAME...

the tarver that fought roy... would of beaten bernard

i know woulda shoulda coulda.. and i dont take the victory away from bernard... all im sayin is.. tarver was a different fighter... and if anyone is gonna make u look like **** its gonna be roy not tarver, just based on an unorthodox style

i know its really hard to defend roy with his avatar and sig on my post... lol.. but i think what im sayin is reasonable

May be true but I think Roy lost the confidence in himself which always carried him, and though he may seem to have gotten that back against a couple bums, i believe when he first experiences another hint of trouble he will be gun shy which will cause him to get knocked out again. I mean he couldve won the third Tarver fight but he now knew what could happen to him, so instead of taking that risk I think he just coasted to a loss, and that same type of attitude would get him killed by Hopkins, in my eyes. Hopkins is an intimidator, and i think today's Roy is mentally weak which would be his downfall.

I derstand agree wth what our saying and totally and completely agree with you especially on the third tarver fight... he could hit him whenever he wanted too but just didnt... which is whyive always thought roy is the better fighter with the more talent between the two, despite the losses... he just didnt do anything!!!... anyways back to my point... i think he has regained a lot of that confidence... and you can usually tell by the way someone acts how confident they are and watching these press releases and everything he seems to have gotten that back to a degree...

obviously i have to put the disclaimer in there...

do i feel roy is back like he used to be? no
do i feel roy can beat the true elite fighters? im leanin more to no than i am to yes...

but i do think hes got something left despite the disagreements... and next weekend we shall see... maybe hes totally shot... who knows its just my opinion

basically i think his mind is back in order... its been 3 years since those losses.. and from the things he says hes over come them.... time will tell..could be just wishful thinking on my part but im tryin to shed some light on where im comin from here

Roy jones is the total opposite of Floyd Mayweather
where Mayweather doesn't like challenges won't even fight
a real welterweight, Roy Jones stepped up to heavyweight
for the fans and made history. thats the only reason he lost
those two fights to those nobodies, and they are nobodies
cos after they beat him, what have they done ??? (tarver and whatshisname)
Roy jones gave fans excitement and he beat the best
Toney, Hopkins in their primes, it don't matter ...
Roy Jones is the true king of boxing of the 90's ...
he takes risks cos he loves challenges .. thats a champ ...
Mayweather runs from someone in the same division (cotto) - thats a chump
