Roy Jones: "Hopkins is Not Better Than Me"

roy could have blasted tito whenever. hopkins hurt tito but tito got up and his father stoped the fight. roy hti tito whenever he wanted stayed in his face the whole fight. hopkins used tricks and out boxed tito until he caught him with some good ****. roy is too quick and is a good boxer. he got skills he jsut relied on his reflexes most of his career now he has to use his skills n headInteresting note, Hopkins stopped a prime Trinidad, while Hopkins was (in my personal opinion, startring to slide) Something that Jones couldn't do, while Tito was OUT of his prime, had been beaten twice and was coming out of a 2 and a half year retirement.
Just saying.....Comment

Because you're not biased at all lol.
But in reality everyones biased towards their fave fighter.
I don't think Jones is better at this point in his career but as he showed against Trinidad he changed his style and although he wasn't great it worked, to be almost 40 and still winning you can't compete athletically with younger fighters (even though roy looked in tip top condition hes obviously not what he was) but you gotta learn how to "win ugly" which hopkins has been very good at, whether Jones has that in him is yet to be seen.Comment

Roy had the CHANCES to blast him, but he didn't. Hopkins did. That makes him atleast smarter in that PARTICULAR regard. Not saying Jones is in any way dumb. He's not.roy could have blasted tito whenever. hopkins hurt tito but tito got up and his father stoped the fight. roy hti tito whenever he wanted stayed in his face the whole fight. hopkins used tricks and out boxed tito until he caught him with some good ****. roy is too quick and is a good boxer. he got skills he jsut relied on his reflexes most of his career now he has to use his skills n head
Father stopped it or not. His father didn't stop THIS fight. Trinidad was relatively competitive in this fight. I happen to be more impressed with his performance against Jones then against Hopkins.
I'm not saying this is the point to end the argument either way, it's just not a favorable point for Jones.
Nonetheless, I was impressed with Jones. Regardless.Comment
