Kessler is the best he's fought and Kessler is barely an above average boxer. I'm not saying that Calzaghe is bad, but one of the best p4p? I don't think he belongs in the top 10 even. If he gets into the ring with Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor, or Wright and beats either one of them, than he belongs, otherwise, he is way too overrated.
      so are these threads.........

Or is this you getting your feelings hurt for the millionth time today, because not everyone on this board faced Calzaghe and prayed 5 times.

Quit being such a toolbag and not only worshipping Calzaghe like he is god, but going as far as EXPECTING everyone else to do the same. And quit ****ing throwing fits when someone criticizes Calzaghe. He looked like **** against Hopkins... get over it.

Your basic point was that Calzaghe needed to do more to be rated high in the p4p lists, and many people felt the same way. If you had made a comment like "Hopkins KO1 Calzaghe" and then Calzaghe had destroyed Hopkins, people might bump the thread and "lol", but many of us Calzaghe fans felt that he would beat Hopkins a lot more comfortably than he did, so you could easily jump on a few of our comments too.

Calzaghe not impressive. Dropped in Round 1 against old Popkins. When is the last time Hopkins dropped anybody in Round 1? Of course he's over rated.

He did better than I thought he would and he made hopkins look worse than he probably ever did in his career. I do think he belongs in the top 5 p4p for yesterdays victory even though it was over a 43 year old hops just cuz of the dominating fashion in which he won but I still don't like his fighting style. calz was holding just as much as hops was yesterday.

the question that will never be answered is if calz could've done this 5 years ago. alot of ppl on this forum see it clear that hops would've taken the win a couple of years ago and I was saying the same thing a couple of days ago but after yesterday I am split 50/50 cuz I don't know who would've won this. hops was a completely different fighter back than but calzaghe did dominate hops. Its just one of those hypothetical matchups that you wish could happen but know will never happen.
                wow.
                I respect you for that.

what does it matter what round he does it in? He KD Tarver late. Infact it's easier to KD someone earlier cause there cold and not set to there rhythm.

well, what that proves is that hopkins was too old. he didn't have the stamina to finish calzaghe off at the end of the 1st round. thats how fast he got tired. after like the 4th or 5th round, hopkins was done even at the start of the rounds. I do believe, had this fight happened 5 years earlier, the outcome would've been different. just look at trinidad-hopkins round 12, hopkins was still full of energy in that round. the different between hops then and now is like day and night.
