Kessler is the best he's fought and Kessler is barely an above average boxer. I'm not saying that Calzaghe is bad, but one of the best p4p? I don't think he belongs in the top 10 even. If he gets into the ring with Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor, or Wright and beats either one of them, than he belongs, otherwise, he is way too overrated.
Im no Calzaghe fan but this comment is dumb, didnt he beat Hopkins?

From what you say Froch will be P4P no 1 when he kos Taylor?? or will Taylor become a shot blown up middle?????

As El Dominicano said "you are who you beat."
i don't think he ducked miranda he just has a different outlook on his career than we do he claimed that he wanted to be a champion again so thats what he's trying to do

Then why enter into talks with Mirandas camp and then back out last minute without so much as an explanation? If you know something I don't please fill me in...

The first time I ever saw Calzaghe fight, I was absolutely blown away! I don't think he's overrated and I believe he deserves p4p top 3 spot. I just don't think his choice of opponent to end his career with is a good choice. I think it'll be Jones?
I was quite taken back by the statement of Kessler. He's more above than an average boxer.

            • Regardless of how good he is his career choices do not reflect that.

yeah but thats when I thought hopkins was still in good shape to face calzaghe. he clearly had all the tools except for conditioning(due to his age more than anything) to beat calzaghe. he was dead tired after the 4th round and even in the last half of each of the first 4 rounds which is the reason he couldn't finish off calzaghe. Calzaghe didn't beat hopkins, father time did.

                  • Calzaghe is a ****sexual. It's a 100% fact. He sucks too. The only thing he's good at is slapping and that's only because he gets tons of practice down at the neighborhood glory hole you can find him at 7 days a week...

Call it what it is an excuse. You name Hopkins as an opponent and then after the win you critise him for facing him. You CANNOT use the Hopkins arguement, you may critise the man in other ways but using an arguement that you supported before he got in the ring with him is an excuse. It's like me saying Cotto needs to fight Mosely to be considered elite then after he wins i say he was very nearly beaten and Mosely only lost because he was old so therefore Cotto isn't elite. Is it not Possible Hopkins just has a bad style for Calzaghe?

It's like People critise him again for not fighting Pavlik when they critise others for jumping up in weight class and getting an immediate shot at the champ. While I support a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight over a Jones-Calzaghe fight I can see the reasons he's doing it. He's an OUT OF PRIME fighter with a few fights left, he wants to retire and fully support his lifestyle and family.
