He took a dive against Aerts this year in k-1 to get out of his contract. Now he plans to fight in Strikeforce (MMA promotion). He will probably fight someone like Butterbean, Tank Abbott or Kimbo.Comment

On a sad note: It says he's fighting to get out of bankruptcy. Which makes this all slightly tragic.Comment

I know, it's pretty sad but he's still making more money than I ever will by taking a few beatings. And he made a lot of money out of his sumo career and wasted them when he tried to start a string of restaurants and failed.
And I'll always root for him to win another fight, I know eventually it's going to happen. It happened once, it can happen again.
EDIT: If you mean Akebono is broke of course.Comment

Yeah, I meant Akebono. It sucks. But hey- it's not like anybody put a gun to his head and robbed him.I know, it's pretty sad but he's still making more money than I ever will by taking a few beatings. Yeah I agree with him on some things, like you cant sustain that type of excitement...I heard that when the fights aint that exciting in the start of the shows. Dana will go to the back or somebody big in the UFC, and tell them they have to fight all out. Thats not good for the fighters, the fighters have to be looking out for their careers and keep winning, thats why they aint getting paid Jack.
I dont agree with the gloves, they need the gloves..
Fights being stood up is the same as cortez breaking boxers up every 2 ****ing seconds.
Chuck throwing that weak ass body shot, I agree with that.
fighters are evolving, and there are a few complete fighters like Fedor,FShamrock,Couture,ASilva,....
Just wanted to throw that out there.Comment

Yeah Chuck f'd up big time with that body shot and he said himself that it was a ****** thing to do. Even professional boxers make mistakes sometimes, not that Chuck is anywhere even near one. But when Jackson immediately countered that mistake with a huge right hook, that was professional.Yeah I agree with him on some things, like you cant sustain that type of excitement...I heard that when the fights aint that exciting in the start of the shows. I don't agree that Jackson is just a tough guy, I think he is actually pretty good at boxing. Look at his K-1 fight against Cyril Abidi. He has above average stand-up for MMA.
I don't like how UFC pays their fighters more money for exciting fights myself but it is what it is and I can understand it. It's not like a fight can't be exciting AND skilled at the same time.
Fights being stood up is OK in my book but I've seen some really ****** stand-ups like the one in Gonzaga - CroCop. Gonzaga was doing serious damage on the ground. But when he knocked the hell out of CroCop with that high kick everyone forgot about that. I guess it turned out to be a good stand-up.
And the gloves are absolutely needed, it's not like you can't have gloves in a street fight. Hey, if we want to go that way why not just bring guns and weapons inside the ring so we can have a real street fight.Comment
