did you read why i put about average in tearms of all LWW throught out history?
Any linear world champion is above average by definition. I still say you need to concentrate more in maths class.

By thew way the Hatton bandwagon is running much better now you jumped off, thanks for that.

Yes. It is what I was expecting. I said that BECAUSE Ricky hatton is not a great fighter, he would be brutally stopped.

What happened? He was brutally stopped.

He was not a great fighter BEFORE 12/8, and he is not a great fighter now. It would be to my benefit, as a FMJ supporter, to say that hatton is great. It would burnish Floyd's resume. But the truth is that Hatton is NOT great. Or even very good. And Floyd deserves no special credit for beating him.

So, Carlos Baldomir? He's an above-average welterweight?

        Arturo Gatti?

I would have to say that Hatton is a very very good JWW.... Maybe even a great JWW... but I think all of us know and have to admit that he is a ****ty-ass WW. He almost lost to a mediocre fighter in Collazo and was exhausted and KOed by Floyd Mayweather. Why would anyone think that a win over a figher who has no business at WW is a significant win? Many people do not take that into account. PBF was smart to fight Hatton at WW and Hatton really had no choice but to fight him at WW. Until this day, PBF has not beat an ELITE PRIME PROVEN WW.

Yes he is. You want to see an average welterweight?

              Pick one.

Gatti was never the linear champ, but he was still above average.

It depends how you define very good. Even if not in a pure boxing sense, the hustle that Ricky brought out of Floyd has to count for something in light of all the advantages Mayweather has. Yes, Floyd dealt with him capably, and anybody smart knew that Ricky's style could very well see him lunging face first into a crushing stoppage. But he forced Floyd to dig in, and it wasn't anything like the Gatti-esque disfiguration you predicted.

With a pause for fair consideration, I have to agree that he isn't great.

yes he is, he has proved the ability to carry his weight at WW unlike Hatton.

                    Key point.

Floyd has already achieved things that would be well beyond most fighters. There are some who will literally not give him any due before he beats a top middleweight (at least).

No, he did not "prove" that. He "proved" that he is a far superior fighter to the guy in the other corner. Period.

Name two welterweights smaller than Floyd. In fact, for every welterweight that you name me who is smaller than Floyd, I will name you a JWW who is is BIGGER than Floyd.

                      Go.... name 'em.
