Ricky Hatton Is Not A Great He Is Just Average

Hatton is a good average world class fighter but we will not be remember as an ATG because he has simply not fort anyone with there still class intact and won. The only Fighter who was good who he fort was Mayweather which we all know made Ricky look below average but that what Mayweather does to average world class fighters.

    The career of Ricky Hatton

Starts of pro career fighting Colin McAuley with a record of 8-48-3. Ok we all have to start of somewhere.

Hatton moves up the rank to win the vacant BBBofC Central Area light welterweight title agent Tommy Pea****. He later wins the WBO Inter-Continental light welterweight title and WBO

Against Jonathan Thaxton for the vacant BBBofC British light welterweight title which hatton struggled to win.

Then for Hatton’s chance agent Tony Pep vacant WBU light welterweight title which Hatton won by TKO. You can’t have Tony Pep as a good fighter. Yes he won big title but he was passed it when he fort Hatton. Ricky later goes on the defend his WBU world title successfully.

On Ray Oliveira. OK Ray was a very experienced fighter who fort some good fighters in his day but not even winning them for the world title. So he had to go with the WBU world title, which is **** and we all know that. So this also is a very poor win for Ricky isn’t it? When he should have been fighting much better opponents.

Hatton big win against Kostya Tszyu for the IBF light welterweight title which no one expects Ricky to win but he just happened to prevail. Then goes on to win the IBF light welterweight title and WBA light welterweight title agents a not to good fighter Carlos Maussa

Juan Urango is a good fight but his record is only 17-0-1. OK I agree with fighting some with a small record but Urango should not have stepped up to someone to the likes of Hatton who was way more experienced. This was an average win for Hatton.

Yes, he fort Jose Luis Castillo but he was way passed his prime. What do you think would have happened if Hatton had fort a prime Jose Luis Castillo? Ricky would have gotten dismantled. Fact! Winning another vacant title, the vacant WBC International light welterweight title which doesn’t mean anything because he never bet the champion himself.

Suffers his first defeat agent Floyd Mayweather JR.

    The conclusion

Hatton managed to win a load of vacant titles against average opponents sometimes agents below average and when he did get into the ring against a good world class fighter against Mayweather he couldn’t handle it he let the pressure get to him. Good fighter handles the pressure and fight the best there is to fight! So Hatton has managed to become a bit of a hype job but don’t get me wrong Hatton is a good fighter but not that good.

Now what Hatton needs to go and fight the best and prove he’s is good and he can start by fight Witter.

Very average fighter with great fans that was build up by a great promoter in Frank warren, Padded record to make him look good..he had a great fighting style early on but that was due to the level of opposition..The moment he stepped up he adopt the hold and hit..Wrestling style.

So as soon as someone gets beaten by the #1P4P fighter on the planet they are average.

Hatton is in no way an average fighter and this is clearly hyperbole. He's a really good (short of great) fighter who came up short against a modern great, probably the only modern great still active. Nobody has EVER looked good against Mayweather and Ricky's resume is decent, just not HOF worthy.
