Ricky Hatton Is Not A Great He Is Just Average

Without question, there is a component of my rhetoric which is intended to tweak the Hattonettes.

This may pre-date your (welcome) arrival on the board, but there was a level of hyperbole around Hatton which was un-freakin;-believable.

Ricky broke four of Castillo's ribs!
Ricky scored three zillion psi on the punch-o-meter!
Ricky will cut off the ring and KO Floyd inside of five!
Ricky will walk right through Floyd's best punches!

Even guys who seemed reasonably astute about the sport (Easton, RIP) were dead-certain of an early hatton KO.

Im sure PBF will never fight at 140 again... He has easily adapted to 147, just as Miguel Cotto, a SIGNIFICANT WW unlike the unranked WW Hatton.

Why did PBF fight Hatton at 147 again? oh thats right, because he saw how fail-prone Hatton was at that weight.

The ONLY semi-significant WW that PBF has faced is DLH, but then again DLH himself has not had a significant win in over 4 years.

I want somebody (er, YOU) to tell me how the 147 limit DETRACTED from hatton. In fact, it gave him MORE options. He could come in as a JWW, as a WW or anywhere in between.

Either way, Floyd was gonna weigh 148 on fight night. Which is a JWW. A smallish JWW.

How would the fight have played ANY differently if the fight was at the 140 limit?
