Well, theres no question he is cutting in line, and that is not exactly FAIR to a lot of fighters, but at least he isnt going out of his way to fight a total bum as is so prevalent these days.

He ain't got no time for bums, I say he fights Miguel, if he wins, he needs to fight Tito at 160 the day before the PR Day Parade or on 16th of SEP weekend (Mex Indep Day) and call it a career.

He put himself in this position by having the perfect career, not perfect record, but perfect management and outstanding accomplishments (Bob Arum, Gold Medal, all those Championships). And it's the classic Mexican vs PR fight, it sells big time. As for ur bet, I never said Oscar beats Cotto, but I did say Floyd beats Cotto (Easily). If that's fight ur referring to for the bet then your on. I don't got 50k though, but I'd happily take urs.
we can bet an equal amount of points and yes I was referring to Floyd-Cotto.. I feel what you saying but I have seen too many guys go from top of the ladder to under the hump, the only thing saving Oscar is his boyish looks and reputed name, that whole Golden Boy **** carried him and it's just not fair, I KNOW the reality but what I'm saying is that it isn't right, I'm not saying NOTHING other than the **** ain't right which if you go by textbook Boxing where your fists are your representatives not just your name you would feel my point, I know the reality of it and I know MY OWN take on it and I don't mix the 2 I only elaborate on what I feel isn't fair and if you put ME aside and just look at what I'm saying, forget the fact that this is just MY opinion you'll see that what I'm saying is true, it may still happen but it doesn't make it right.. 100

he doesn't need to face a bum, he could face Cintron or something once Kermit's hand heals, it's still the whole Puerto Rico VS Mexico thing or he can face Tony for May 3rd but to jump straight at Cotto? nah yo I think that fight can and SHOULD happen but not under these circumstances, let him face a legit dude and win then I can see him fighting Miguel, imagine Oscar in the Garden for June 9? that would be a blockbuster for NY, something phenomenal and the 1st ground shattering fight in the new MSG ring, thats all I'm saying but it wont seem right if he just goes straight at Miguel because it will make it seem like it's okay to just jump at someone because your name is such and such, I would LOVE to see the fight but c'mon Oscar earn it don't just flaunt your money.. 100

You took the words out of my mouth, this fight is awesome in every way...Cotto becomes a superstar by beating DLH and sets up Cotto-PBF

Agree, fight Oscar. It will keep boxing in the media and make Cotto's name bigger, especially if he wins.

We wouldn't even be having this discussion if fighters would fight more than 1-2 times a year.

If fighters fought every 2-3 months or F, I would be happy with every 4 months, which makes 3 fights a year, an Oscar fight in the mix would be no big deal to make it happen.

No Hatton, since he is moving down. No Mayweather, Oscar wouldn't want to do that again since it wasn't the most exciting fight. No Mosely, since they are partners.

That leaves Williams, Margarito and Cotto. Margarito and Williams, Oscar, like everyone else in the division, is just going to say no ****ing thanks. Too high risk, too low money.

                  This leaves Cotto.

The great thing about this fight is that if Cotto wins, this will bring him more over the top as a big draw, since so many people will be watching. If Oscar wins (doubtful), he would finally beat a top pound for pound fighter who is truly in their prime. (I think Whitaker counts as being in his prime still but a lot of people disagree).

It will be a good fight for Cotto, fighting a name like De La Hoya is gonna get alot more people to know who Miguel Cotto is. About the fight though, I think De La Hoya is gonna beat him, he's alot bigger than Cotto. But on the other hand, I hope Cotto destroys him, I'm sick of De La Hoyas ****

Oscar should seriously think about Paul Williams, I mean at this point in Oscar's career, it's known he'll give you a fight even if he loses a decision. And ontop of that, those lanky arms will grant Oscar more oppertunities then Cotto's short quick power shots.
I agree, but its not Oscar's fault if Cotto vs Mayweather doesnt happen.
