yea but he doesn't deserve the fight, Oscar DOESN'T deserve the fight, he is using his NAME as a credential in a sport where you have to BEAT the guys and climb the ranks, he's jumping out of a loss into a fight for a MAJOR belt, he is bypassing the ranks due to his bank account gross and getting away with it and also being considered.. it ain't about if he can win or lose the fight because where he stands he shouldn't even be fighting this kind of fight.

Well, everyone wants to see Floyd/Cotto. But if Floyd is AWOL, Oscar is not a terrible replacement.

Floyd took Oscar's best shots, Oscar didn't land all night, but he did get in a couple of flush ones. The thing with Floyd is, he sees everything coming. That's part of having a good chin, preparing ur body to take the shot. Come to think of it, I've seen Cotto tire (or get gun shy) late in fights, Shane and N'dou come to mind right away. Floyd thrives on taking it to his opponent during the second half of the fight, Floyd tops Cotto easy. Cotto needs to make some money, and a name for himself and fight Oscar before he falls off the map after losing to Floyd. If he don't take the Oscar fight, someone else will. He did early in the Zab fight, that was based on Zab's quickness, and Mayweather leaves his body to be mashed when he's behind his shoulder. You add Cotto's quickness and frequent body work, and well..you can do the math.

Cotto is a hard consistant puncher; Oscar is a fast, concussive puncher, who used to throw in combination (lethal). I think at this point Cotto throws more, giving him more opportunity. But, when is the last one punch KD or KO Cotto had? Oscar has put many a fool down with one shot. They are different in terms of power, but both equally dangerous.

It's funny how an Oscar - Cotto thread has turned into a what if Floyd - Cotto discussion. Floyd Cotto aint happening any time soon. They all know what is going to take place. Cotto and Oscar will fight on Cinco de Mayo and create millions (20 episodes of 24/7) Then Floyd will make his return next year and fight the winner for the richest payday in boxing history thanks to 40 episodes of 24/7. Anyway, Cotto vs Oscar is a good fight, and I don't think it will make it to the final bell.

I think the winner of this fight will depend on what weight they're fighting at. At 147 I think Cotto would win, at 154 DLH would win. If Cotto wins this fight he'll become a superstar and Floyd can't say Cotto doesn't make financial sense anymore. Wonder if he has any other excuses?
