Oscar vs Miguel, 3rd of May, Los Angeles

This article states there there are negotiations in place to have Miguel Cotto fight Oscar De La Hoya on the 3rd of May in Los Angeles. I think it's going to happen, it does not speak of what venue or weight class though. They must be in the very early stages of negotiations, none the less some coordination is being done.

I love Oscar, but he needs to take a step back and let Cotto/Mayweather transpire.

Oscar should seriously think about Paul Williams, I mean at this point in Oscar's career, it's known he'll give you a fight even if he loses a decision. And ontop of that, those lanky arms will grant Oscar more oppertunities then Cotto's short quick power shots.

I doubt this is true based on the fact that they state the venue will be Los Angeles. Oscar doesn't fight outside of Vegas anymore and has a long lasting tight relationship with MGM.

        Cotto By Ko

Oscar Is Not The Same Fighter He Once Was. If They Fight At 154lbs Cotto Will Be More Of A Beast, And The Speed Of Oscar Has Long Gone

Oscar is my favorite fighter of all time no doubt about it and i think a fight with Cotto can go either way and i think Oscar can KO Cotto easly. But!!!! I dont think Oscar has the stamina to beat Floyd, since Floyd would run in that fight again. On the other hand Cotto has the stamina to beat Floyd and i im pretty sure Floyd couldnt handle Cotto's Power.

Cotto is a more refined version of Hatton hes real strong at Welterweight and even Jr. Middle. Cotto's power is far more powerful than Hatton and over the years and the last few fights Cotto's boxing skills have increased a lot.

And i dont want to see Oscar lose again so i hope he fights someone else than cotto because i want cotto to fight floyd.

                jUST LOOK AT TITO

I THINK HE WOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE TITO, HE WOULD CARRY ALL THAT POWER TO 154LBS BUT SHOULD NEVER GO ANY HIGHER. THE MAN WALKS AROUND ABOUT 160LBS LIKE TITO DID AND TITO NEVER TASTED A LOSS BUT WHEN HE WENT UP TO 160LBS

Oscar De La Hoya does not deserve a big fight, when will his ****ing name stop qualifying him? he is not in line to face someone who beat a guy who beat someone who whipped HIS ass twice and on top of that Oscar losing his last fight at a higher weight level against a smaller, BETTER guy and losing 3 of his last 5 fights, how does this ****ing primadonna get the honor bestowed upon him to face Miguel Cotto? a direct chance at a MAJOR title? I would rather see a Judah rematch because at least he deserves it, he been screaming rematch since the post fight interview and has been winning all of his last few fights but Oscar? get the **** out of here..

Oscar is at the end of his career, and I'm sure he's wanting to have one last fight in his home, L.A. This is a huge fight on the weekend of 5 de Mayo in Los Angeles. Cotto has all his fights in NY on the eve of the PR Day Parade, so let's bring him to Cali on Cinco de Mayo.
