Miguel Cotto = Overrated

There was a time when Cotto was overrated, gotta agree there. But he has taken good level of opposition, better than most fighters and keeps shutting haters up. Pisses you off doesn't it? I would love to see him in there with Williams or Margarito thou, that should be enough proof that he's a legit star.Comment

First off I agree that Mayweather would beat Cotto but dont get it twisted Cotto is not overrated. He has earned his spot to be named as one of the top Welterweights. Yeah, Mayweather decisioned Judah, but Cotto stopped him, he also was the first to beat Shane at Welterweight, beat an unbeaten and current IBF light welter champ Pauli Malignaggi, an undefeated Quintana, and also a current WBO light Welterweight champ in Torres.........Please give the fighters credit where credit is dueComment

Cotto has been brung along the same way Oscar and PBF where when they where with Top Rank, but people tend to forget that. 90% of the people picked Judah and Mosley to KO him and he passed the test. PBF is the better pure boxer but win it comes to heart he can"t compare to Cotto. PBF could hit Cotto with everything he has and Cotto would walk right on through. If Mosley and Zab could not KO Cotto how could Floyed. When he came up in weight he did no bring that KO power (Ricky does not count, 5"6 140lbs is nothing compared to what true ww bring)Comment

I don't think Cotto is overrated, but I got a huge problem with people talking about him like he's some kind of legendary gatekeeper of the 147lb division, that Floyd MUST fight in order to get respect for beating a "true WW", when he's only been at 147 for like a year. (don't feel like checking dates.)
Cotto is still just a dangerous up and coming 147 pound titlist, nothing more than that.Comment

Fact is, Cotto is more proven and has accomplished more at WW than Floyd.I don't think Cotto is overrated, but I got a huge problem with people talking about him like he's some kind of legendary gatekeeper of the 147lb division, that Floyd MUST fight in order to get respect for beating a "true WW", when he's only been at 147 for like a year. Cotto has been a ww for only a year, but we are now seeing a better fighter due to the fact that he does not have to starve to make weight. He is going to do great things in the next few years. If floyed will not fight him he should fight Oscar. A fight with these 2 would break the bank. Floyed and Oscar set the recored once held by Tito and Oscar, but another fight between a great mexican fighter and a star from PUERTO RICO would set the bar much higher. Both fighters live in PR Oscar would want revenge for the Tito loss, and for Cotto if he where to KO Oscar PBF would then be knocking on his door to BREAK THE BANK FOR THE LARGEST PPV IN HISTORY. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT, AND IF COTTO PLAYS HIS CARD RIGHT HIS TIME WILL COME!!!!Comment

Well then you should get use to having that problem because Cotto is exactly that guy. Mayweather vs Cotto is litterally the fight of the decade, and Cotto will go down in history as just another fighter Mayweather ducked in his over-rated career.I don't think Cotto is overrated, but I got a huge problem with people talking about him like he's some kind of legendary gatekeeper of the 147lb division, that Floyd MUST fight in order to get respect for beating a "true WW", when he's only been at 147 for like a year. I mean Hatton is 1/4th of what Cotto is, and thats being generous. It should have been Cotto in there on saturday and as confused and as off balance as Mayweather looked just from a little Hatton pressure early, imagine twice as much pressure from a fighter thats twice as strong that can last 12 entire rounds. Somthin tells me Mayweather wouldn't be able to hold up.Comment
