I was actually searching for Barry McGuigan's quote but I put Taylor's in for comic value to the uK peeps
Edit: here it is:
Former World Champion Barry McGuigan was critical of referee Joe Cortez for his propensity for breaking the fighters up throughout the Ricky Hatton/Floyd Mayweather contest, while deducting a point from Hatton.
"Joe Cortez was very biased, I thought," McGuigan told BBC Radio Five Live
"He broke them up every time. Every opportunity he got, he broke them up.
"Hatton fought tremendously bravely.
"I thought the whole thing, the point being deducted, being broken up..... he never really allowed Ricky to fight his style of fight."
McGuigan does, however, believe Hatton should keep fighting.
"Of course he should continue, it's too soon for retiring."
I don't think they should rule it a no contest, that would be unfair on Floyd, but a rematch should be a possibility in a smaller ring with a neutral ref/judges.
I don't think even a rematch should happen. Ricky seemed at peace with his loss and thats not the kind of fighter I would want to grant a rematch to. Maybe if Ricky was like, I could have done better, Cortez screwed me over he let PBF hit me with elbows all night, etc etc... then I would have more faith in ricky actually regrouping.
Also the Ring size I thought was pretty irrelevant as Hatton caught up with floyd often.

Ricky said he'd fight him again in half an hour (I have the youtube). And he said Cortez screwed him.
Also, if u don't think the ring size matters watch R7 when Floyd runs around it or R2 when Ricky is forced to literally chase him.
Don't take this as me disliking Floyd, I don't dislike him, but fair is fair and that fight wasn't.

Absolutely, I don't take it like that, and I agree the fight was not fair, far from it. All I am saying is that Ricky while he seemed displeased at first he really didn't act like a fighter who truly believes he got screwed. I mean he should have been an inch from knocking Cortez the **** out and he wasn't. He even played down how Cortez screwed him later dismissing it as more of a minor incidence than the deciding factor. I just don't think that sounds to me like a fighter who can really get it together again for another go. So a rematch might be pointless or even worse... dispprove the allegations because he cant get up for it anymore.
Also I know that Ricky chased him, and had to chase him because Floyd runs sometimes but what I am saying is that in the early rounds you mentioned, Ricky acquired some decent success with his tactics of cutting of the ring off, but by round 7 the ring size was only a factor then because Hatton was really ****ed up by all the elbows he had sustained.

No 1 gives a **** about who you like or dont like. The Mayweather/Hatton fight was a classic for the ages & all you keep talking about is the referee. ****** ass hating fans like yourself is 1 of the things wrong with boxing today.
PS Hatton got knocked the **** OUT! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

Thats cos he just got knocked out. Its kinda hard to speak.

Difficult to know. Check out the youtube at the bottom.

He sustained punches too, Mayweather did punch him altho Cortez created the space for the big shots.
