The ref didnt give them a chance to punch their way out. That i think is the problem.

The ref didnt warn either fighter for hitting and holding, so thats not the issue. Each fight is different, if Hatton did that in the past he shouldnt be penalised for it now.

If he did hold and hit Floyd than he should have been warned, but that nvere happened.

U have to allow fighters to fight, and deduct points only if a foul is commited, not premeditate the event. (if that makes sense?)

Your right. But it was 1 hell of a fight. I just want to give both the fighters there props. Hatton is probably going to go back to 140 where he will probably hold his title until he retires & PBFM is going to come back in 2008 to face Cotto in an epic battle after he gets kicked off american idol. LOL

Ultimate, how are you going to sit here and say ricky sustained "elbows" as if floyd was throwing them out there for the sake of hurting him? ricky sustained alot of body work from the first round on, thats what tired him out, the thing that everyone forgets is that as much as cortez intefered, hatton never really worked on the inside, think about the best inside fighters in the game, do they smother their own punches like he was doing that night?

Hatton was more intent on mugging and mauling mayweather as opposed to actually taking a step back and unloading his offensive arsenal. Despite all this outcry, the thing nobody seems to mention is that hattons inside game never took off because he himself was intent on sitting on floyd, not to mention, the few times hatton did try to get off punches, he was hitting a whole lot of shoulder/arm/back. As the fight wore on, floyd knew what was coming, its the same pattern in all his fights, by round 5/6/7 hes already figured out whats coming.

Cortez set Hatton up for the head shots and Floyd was holding on and hugging and getting the split from the overanxious ref. Without that the fight would've continued with Hatton chasing Floyd down, pinning him and battering him. Floyd would fight back but Hatton always had the edge close quarters.

Yeah there were elbows and such by Floyd, but Ricky aint the cleanest of fighters. I think if Hatton was allowed to fight his 'Style' he may have lasted the fight out, but he would still have lost badly on points. His style had no chance to beat the much better fighter.
This man speaks the plain simple truth.

Cortez was **** but there's no way Hatton won 4 rounds. Id give him the first 2 rounds at the very most.
