Cortez probably was the difference between a KO loss and going the distance.

Didnt look like the judges were going to give hatton any slack anyway on the scorecards...guess they dont know what "ring generalship" is. Regardless it probably wouldve been a 3 round advantage for mayweather. While hatton probably would not have been KTFO had he not become frustrated with floyd's elbows and the ref, if Floyd wanted to he couldve turned things on anytime and just wiped Hatton out. Hatton could NOT jab floyd consistently because of the reach, HUGE factor in the fight.

Why would he keep interrupting all the time, when that's Ricky's strength, fighting close in like that?'

Tzyu never complained. Mayweather did because he didn't want the same treatment and then he goes and does it to Hatton who can't do anything becuse of the ref.

Where did I say anything about clinching?

What I said, was that hitting and holding is illegal and this is what Hatton was doing.
        Thats what Floyd was doing.

Not nearly as much as Floyd was during the first 3 rounds, yes, exactly.

            Telegraph:

'The three judges at ringside - Paul Smith, Dave Moretti and Burt Clements, are all American. Two of them - Moretti and Smith - were among the panel that gave Oscar De La Hoya a points victory in what was dubbed a 'gift' decision over Felix Sturm to set up a fight between De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins'

If the referee wasn't Cortez, he still wouldn't have won. Mayweather was just too good, I give Hatton a heck of a lot of credit for bringing out the best Floyd Mayweather though.

i dont agree with everyone hating on cortez and saying he decided the fight, but i see where they are coming from and if hatton was more on floyds level skill wise and hit him with more than 2 good shots throughout the fight, i could see an argument here, as it stands, floyd is a much better all around boxer, he proved that and he got the win. end of story.

Irregardless of him complaining or not its obvious. Bad referring is not dependent on complaining or not. I suggest you re-watch they fight yourself. 1:30 into the first round Hatton spins Tzu around and intentionally hits Tzu behind the head and FOLLOWS UP with a right hook.

There are tons of other things in there too just rewatch it.
