Floyd Mayweather hits and holds better than Ricky Hatton

This is not a hate thread, but all Floyd fans going on about Hatton hitting and holding and complaining saying this is illegal is only what Floyd Mayweather did in the first 4-5 rounds.

Mayweather deserved the victory and was superb but lets be honest in the first few rounds it was Floyd who grabbed hold of Ricky as soon as he got close and then held with one hand and hit with the other and also elbowed and used the forearm to the face. I'm not complaining about this and Ricky never either and you do what you have to.

But Floyd fans don't criticise Hatton for it when Floyd does it himself but so much better.

No he didn't do it for the duration of the fight but did in the first few rounds before wearing Hatton down and putting on a defensive and offensive masterclass.

You are 100% correct and of course it was part of a deliberate plan to frustrate Hatton. And it worked ! Floyd was potshotting and holding. This forced the ref to become part of the fight equation, something of course Hatton and his camp did not want. Inevitably it took clinching out of the equation because the ref started gettin eagle eyed on it. Genius.

The brilliance of PBF has to be realised even within these minor details.

Exactly and fair play to him. Let's just acknowledge it's not only Hatton that does it even the greatest P4P fighter in the world needs to do this at some point. Hatton does it far more than Mayweather but everyone no matter how great does it and it's a part of the game.
