    Mayweather-Hatton Post Thoughts Combined Threads

as i have posted, i expected him to dominate, which he really didnt, and i expected to win by UD, which he didnt. he knocked Ricky out. something I never thought he would do. I give Floyd alot of credit for that. I dont understand the judges scorecards and at times, it seemed like Cortez was cutting Floyd some slack when it came to the elbows. One thing though, where were the Floyd Mayweather fans? Why was that place full of Brits even though the fight took place in America and in Floyd's backyard. What does that say about his "draw power"? I think if Floyd were to conduct himself like he did AFTER the fight, that arena would have been predominately with Floyd fans. The Floyd that showed up for THIS fight and AFTER the interview is the Floyd I want to be a fan of. Again, cong**** to Floyd, I knew he would win but not like this so my hats off. Let the nuthugging, ******* off to Floyd's posters begin.

All credit to Floyd. He was also very complimentary of Hatton after the fight.

I was very impressed with Floyd's performance in the ring and incredibly surprised how classy he conducted himself in the post fight interviews. Hatton on the other hand did not give Floyd him due respect. You know what? I'm changing my ****in avi!

PLease read..A whole new level of respect for pbf

Okay first off I truely belived hatton would win this thing. I thought he came out strong and gave pbf one hell of a fight. Pbf even said it was one of his toughest fights in the end interview. It was exciting and everything I thought it was gonna be except hatton lost. I admit he clearly lost NO EXCUSES from me and props to mayweather for being the better man. He lost on the cards big time and go ko'd out cold by Pbf. I cant believe I'm saying this but I have a whole new level of respect for mayweather than I did simply because of the interview after the fight. He seemed so much more like a real person. Take nothing away from hatton he gave it all he had but came up short against mayweather who is the better man. No excuses from me and props to mayweather I finally give him the credit he deserves. He beat haton and I'm very impressed with him for doing so. So props to mayweather and hatton for fighting. Oh my bets I will get them all paid by tommorow I'm having some tgscene tonight loading well for me. G**** to the pbf fans.

Agree with 2501 completely, if Floyd behaved like he did after the fight more often he would be a far more popular fighter worldwide. Cong**** to Floyd for a quality display of boxing in a scrappy fight and my sympathies to Ricky, as for the *******s booing the American national anthem they are an absolute disgrace to Britain and should show some respect to one of the few countries that actually like us.

                  My thoughts on Mayweather/Hatton

First off, all congratulations are in order to Floyd Mayweather for putting on a great performance. I was more impressd by him tonight than I have been since he moved up from 130lbs.

The first thing I want to say is, shame on the posters here who are ****ting on Ricky Hatton. The kid went in there against a fighter who was clearly superior to him in every department and fought his ****ing heart out. Even though he lost, I think Hatton's aggression was the reason we saw the Mayweather that we saw tonight. Had Ricky tried to box him it would've been boring.

It takes balls to get in that ring, especially against a guy whom everybody knows is your superior. ****ting on Hatton is downright spiteful IMO. I understand you guys want to throw it back in the face of the Hatton loyals who've been ****ting on Mayweather for so long, but to me it seems you're ****ting on the fighter himself as well.

Secondly, I was impressed with Mayweather's personality after the fight. I never bought into his whole "bad guy" image but I've also never seen him more gracious and humble than tonight. Telling Ricky after the fight that he wanted to see him fight again and that the fans "****ing love you".

His personality always sparkles in post fight interviews but I think tonight it shined even brighter than before. Giving Larry Merchant his props for being a good interview and a "great person", he had me smiling in a way that Hatton had me smiling in the build up to the fight.

Third, even in defeat Hatton is a humble man and a consumate jokester. After the TKO, he said with a big smile on his face something along the lines of "what a ****ing fluke that was!".

Lastly, I've always been somewhat of a critic of Mayweather over the past several years, but there was never any doubt in my mind how good he was. Tonight he showed me that he is truly great, and I recognize him as such. These guys were made for each other IMO.

Tremendous amount of respect across the board to both fighters for putting on one hell of a show, and ending the tremendous year of 2007 for boxing on a high note.
