No way i can see Hatton-Delahoya happening now. I mean a left hook from Mayweather knocked him out, what do you think would happen when a much bigger puncher, whos best punch is a left hook gets in the ring with him. Im sure DelaHoya was banking on it going to a decision a close one, and then he thought well ill be able do something floyd couldnt do (a KO) but now that Floyds already done it, no reason for Oscar to fight him. Better yet, i doubt Ricky would even want to fight him.

i agree with you and emjoy the reading.
i had mayweather 4 points ahead at the moment of the ko :P....the judged were terrible. i had it a draw up to round 6 =P...then it was only mayweather.Comment

I think the complaints over Cortez extend to more than the stoppage. Cortez was deplorable. But Floyd was great last night and he didn't need Cortez' help anyway. That's the ironic thing. The smoke has cleared and yes mayweather won.
it was one of his most impressive displays of skill/talent that i've seen from him in quite a few years.
for once im pleased with his performance due to the fact he didnt just use defensive minded tactics...he also got in there and at times fought hatton's fight.
All the credit to Mayweather for a great performance and showing he can be a good guy by giving hatton so much praise and being humble when the fight was over.
i'd like to see more of that type of mayweather in and out of the ring.
hatton didnt display his best performance but he sure did fight his heart out and although i would bet mayweather to win, i was hoping hatton could pull out a victory...
he showed a lot of heart and courage and no matter how many times he got caught with good punches he kept coming forward and you have to appreciate that if you're a true boxing fan.
i do however think the judges scorecards were a little off...i had mayweather ahead 3 points (2 rounds and 1 point for the foul) going into the 10th round.
i dont think hatton only won one round up until the 10th.
i think that was a little bit of an exaggeration but i also wasnt at ringside so i seen a different fight than those in the arena.
either way im not taking anything away from mayweather i clearly had him winning the fight and knew hatton would need a couple of knockdowns or a knockout to win.
it was a good fight on both sides even if statistically it didnt appear like it...and even with all the downtime from the holding (on both fighter's part).
cant wait to see these two get in the ring again (just not against each other...dont think ricky would have a better chance at all a second time around).
if we're lucky we will see de la hoya vs. hatton and floyd vs. cotto or another worthy opponent.
by the way (for the record) whoever was whinning about cortez stopping it early take note that it was going to get stopped anyway...hatton's corner were calling it off win he went down (the ref didnt see it...he just stopped it)
so it wouldnt have mattered but i know hatton has a ton of heart and given the chance he would have kept fighting until he was knocked out. he's a good guy.
agree or disagree?
Now it's time for Floyd to finally move on to Cotto. That's the fight. That's been the fight for quite sometime.Comment

well you know the ring was larger, cortez was separating them
alot in the first few rounds ... but it was good for boxing
because Hatton is too much of a wrestler.
Imagine if he became pound for pound fighter ?!!!
maybe in wrestling but boxing ? ...
so props to MayweatherComment

Hatton has gotten away with wrestling for a long time. It was nice to see him beaten at his own game. I don't understand why Ricky doesn't fight like the way he actually trains. He doesn't go into the Gym and wrestle for training, why fight that way.well you know the ring was larger, cortez was separating them

Why did Hatton want Floyd to **** his arse?
Wasn't Mayweather basically already doing that by whooping his ass all night? Thought that was pretty gay on Hatton's part, not sure. Also found it a little weird how he showed his ass on 24/7. I dunno, maybe that's funny over the pond or something.Comment

Mayweather
Aint had time to post since the fight, and would just like to say that I clearly underestimated Floyd. I take my hat off to him. He fought absolutely amazing. Still hate the guy, but he did show true class at the end of the fight towards the British fans. Ricky was not smart enough, quick enough or powerful enough to match him. P4P no 1? Definately.
