Could you buy me a bottle of champagne too?
Seriously though just because one record is better than another, isn't grounds to dismiss the other guy's record completely, or to write off his chances.Comment

Commenting about PBF in a PBF/Hatton thread.
Shocking, huh?
Conversely, it CAN be said that you obsessing about every possible flaw or minutiae of PBF is a less-than-lofty pursuit......right?Comment

I'll give this to you Addy, you back your opinion with points bets. It wasn't pretty seeing you go e-broke after a few past fights.....you know which ones.
If you ever need a loan (Dec. 8), I'm here for ya.

Hatton has as good a shot as any past fighter PBF has faced. Everyone Floyd has faced had some chance. My problem with seeing Hatton winning this fight is based upon PBF's win over DLH. Other than footwork and tenacity, all the other areas of his game either fall short or just matches DLH's ability. Sure his bodywork is 2nd to only Cotto IMO, but you have to be able to apply the work. Its hard to punch with all your strength while simultaneously trying to catch an evasive Floyd.Comment

ok you don't Hold Zab Judah in high regard .. but he did something that Castillo didn't .. went the distance
"How do I explain Hatton taking Castillo down in 4? I explain it by the visual evidence. Hatton's body shots."
ok you can use visual evidence to say why Hatton took out Castillo .. but couldn't you see that the 2007 Jose Luis Castillo wasn't nearly as good as the one that faced Mayweather in 02
thats not bias .. thats a fact Jose Luis Castillo in 2007 is not > Jose Luis Castillo of 2002
"I furthermore believe that Tszyu holds up against De LaHoya. The more you attempt to run down Hatton's accomplishments, the more biased you appear."
ok that statement is completly irrelivent .. Kostya never fought above 140 .. so why are you even mentioning how Kostya could have done vs Oscar its 100% what if
im not running down Hatton's accomplishments .. its a common fact that the 2007 fight Castillo vs Hatton was very one sided .. would you disagree with that?
why bring up Oscar vs Kostya .. it never happened will never happen .. and has NOTHING to do with the Castillo thingy
''Ok? We can agree to disagree here, because I'm tired of arguing the point. I've already stated what needed to be said. And, I do not hold fighters like Judah, Manfredy, and Gatti in high esteem. I do not believe they are a credit to Floyd's record. You, obviously do. We disagree. Period. Good night.[/QUOTE]
fine put down Judah all you want .. but he did something Castillo didn't .. he won 4 rounds .. Castillo got Kayo'ed in 4 rounds
so you hold Castillo in higher regard because Hatton beat him in a 4th round KO
but completly pass over Zab Judah who won 4 rounds .. and made the distance?
thats bias right thereComment

I don't see how anyone could debate Hatton & Mayweather's resumes are equal/similar. Mayweathers overall body of work is better than Hattons. Hatton a really good win in KT & a few solid wins over some fighters (JLC & Collazo). Mayweather has wins over Genaro Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Carlos Hernandez, Corrales, JLC twice, Judah, Baldomir, & DLH. Those all aren't elite but that's a damn good resume & one of the best in boxing today.Comment

I'm looking at it from the perspective of who has fought the tougher competition at any given time. I'm not running an opinionated average of every opponent that each has fought. I'm not saying that Mayweather has fought more weaker fighters than Hatton, or vise versa. To me, a comparison of the padding is irrelevant. In Floyd's case, IMO De LaHoya was his toughest competition with Castillo and Corrales close behind. IN Hatton's case, Tszyu was his toughest competition with Castillo close behind. Looking at it from this perspective, I really do not buy the argument that Floyd has without a doubt faced tougher opponents than Hatton. There is no clear distinction. The big difference from myself and the Mayweatherphiles that have been attacking my position, is that I view Tszyu as a great fighter. Furthermore, the Mayweatherphiles want to run down Hatton's demolition of Castillo by saying that Castillo was a shot fighter by the time he got to Hatton. I'm not that cynical. Castillo was one of the gamest fighters I ever saw. I think Castillo's problem was Ricky Hatton. Yes, Floyd beat Castillo too, but it was in a less convincing fashion, IMO. In fact, I thought Floyd lost the first fight. For these reasons, I find it difficult to objectively distinguish which fighter has really fought the toughest competition to date.I don't see how anyone could debate Hatton & Mayweather's resumes are equal/similar.
