In the past 6 years Shane is 5-4-1 with his biggest wins being a questionable decision over Oscar and two wins over a shot Vargas. Prior to losing to PBF, Oscar was 4-2 the last 5 years with a highly questionable win over Sturm. Oscar is almost 35 and Shane is almost 36. Neither fighter has been considered a top P4P fighter in years and they’re averaging only about a fight a year. Yet somehow people wanted to see Floyd fight Oscar and now they want him to fight Shane. I don’t understand it. These guys are past their primes and on their last legs. I don’t even think Shane could beat Cintron or Pwill and Oscar is trying to get 140lb Hatton to come up and fight him. Both guys are at least 5-6 years past their primes.
Your picking Cintron over shane mosley?

    Dont bother with point 6.

i see what you're saying... but i still think Pwill's size, jab and volume punching would give them trouble... its difficult to outbox a bigger man fighting big... byrd is way more skilled than wlad or VK but could not outbox them because of they way they used their size and jab... i'd love to see PWill fight one of them though...

I believe Shane is about shot... is it that hard to think that a 36 year old who's been worn through 72 rounds with Oscar, Winky and Forrest and hasnt had a quality win in 7 years would lose to a bigger, stronger, 28 year old world champion with crushing power and the best trainer in the game??

I wouldn't say that they are slipping quickly, but they are getting a bit old yes. Both guys are still capable of beating close to everyone around their weights, both could give everyone around 147/154 a tough time of it.

You have to look at who these guys lost to. Shane lost to Wright (one of the very best 154 pounders the sport has seen) and Vernon Forrest, who was a very good Welterweight champion himself for a stretch there. Oscar lost to Mosley (questionably), Hopkins and Mayweather. It's not like these guys are struggling with average fighters ala JLC against Herman Ngoujo.

I see your point, but both Mosley and Oscar have some years left in them if they stay focused on boxing.

Mosley skills might be diminshing and he may not be in his prime....but he would eat up Cintron... why is everyone biggin up Cintron....yes he impressively knocked out Matthysee in 2 rounds...but yes he did get blown away by Margarito in 5 rounds...reminds me off a Jeff Lacy.....well hyped up..until he meets a slick boxer/slapper like calzaghe who schools him...Mosley would school Cintron IMO!
