You call it nit picking, I call it the truth. Everything I said was a fact except for tarver maybe, we don't really know what the weight drain did to him. Roy jones was the p4p king and looked invincible during his reign, something Bernard has not done. Floyd cleaned out 130 lbs, fought the best at 135 twice, was avoided by the best at 140, beat the best at 147 and then beat the champion, and then went and fought a Oscar at 154 with a small ring and reyes gloves. Holyfield ok, he got Holyfield beat. Fact is he beat a bown up Oscar, ablown up Trinidad, and now a blown up winky. That is fact!
10 truths boxing fans should accept!

You are trying to say positive things about Floyd and Roy Jones's career and saying negative things about Hopkins's career... That isn't really comparing anything very well. You call it nit picking, I call it the truth. What do you have to say that is positive about Hopkins's career?Comment

How many people can you name who've cleaned up/ been the undisputed champion in FIVE divisions?Being The UNDISPUTED CHAMP in 5 Divisions makes your GREAT.. owning a fragmented belt in 5 divisions makes you merely OK.. especially if 1 of thos ebelts was against an in hindsight ..SHOT fighter WHo was AWARDED the belt out of the ring.... the next one was against a guy who had no business being there.. and had only ever beat.. previously mentioned shot fighter.. and a mental case... And would have lost his next fight regardelss of who it was against.. And finally against a guy who was far past his best..
Its not just the belts.. But WHO you beat to get the belts.. The belts are NOT really worth anything these days..
did he clean UP 5 divisions?? No Sir he didn't... top 20 of time ??? sure.. top 10 of all time ??? Nope...
Exactly.
I think Floyd is far more than 'merely ok'...he may have won some trivial titles in terms of competition but to win belts in five divisions is great, especially considering only one of his wins was actually questionable (Castillo.) Yes, the champion makes the belt but Mayweather has certainly earned some level of standing considering the man is a natural super featherweight and has coasted to victory in almost all of his outings.
I don't agree he is top ten of all time but your first remark is simply laughable. I guess De La Hoya is also simply ok, as is Thomas Hearns...Comment

except for oscar, winky and tito coming up in weight to fight him... the rest of your post is OPINION and not fact...Nard caught tarver at the right time, that significant weight drain had a drastic impact on him just like it did on Roy Jones when they 1st fought. Taylor was unproven when they fought and still is questioned even to this day. Nard defeat to the hands of taylor hurt his legacy even though I felt he won the 1st match. And That record title defenses is real suspect, their are previous thread here about that title defense. He fought a few people multiple times and a bunch of nobodies. He also has wins over a blown up Delahoya and a blown up trinidad and now a blown up Wright. He is a great fighter and things he is able to do at 42 are remarkable but he isn't better than Roy Jones , Floyd Mayweather, Oscar, and barely Holyfield.
you can nit pick anyone's resume... i'll give you an example and do it to RJ...he beat a drained toney, an inexperienced nard, a paper champion in ruiz... he fought a long list of paper mandatories that included policemen, garbage collectors and part-time fighters... he refused to fight several tough contenders and choosing to fight the paper mandatories instead...Comment

In a word: no.8. Nard’s legacy is one of the greatest in boxing history, far greater than RJ, Oscar, Holyfield or Floyd.
Nard going up to 175 and soundly beating the undisputed champ, Tarver, is one of the biggest accomplishments in boxing history. He jumped two weight classes and beat the undisputed man who beat the man. Thats much more significant than Jones going up and beating a paper champion in Ruiz. At over 40 years olds, he’s barely losing to young undefeated champs(Taylor), he's beating top P4P fighters(Winky) and destroying the undisputed 175lb champ. Not to mention his record title defenses at 160.
His legacy is better than Jones' safely, but that's about where that point stops.Comment
