I am surprised by your answers . Beckham is the most famous soccer player in the world and most americans dont know who he is . Floyd mayweather is the most famous boxer in boxing and all americans would know who he is.

It's doubtful that Mayweather is more famous in the US than Beckham. Beckham is known to every sports fan and to many non-sports fans. Beckham is more famous than De La Hoya in the US.
