Why do Fat Yanks dislike Hatton so much, in general?

Holyfield started holding alot in later part of his career because he lost alot of speed and more importantly stamina. In the Earlier part of his career he hardly held at all and had threw tons of punches for a heavyweight or even for a cruiserweight.

I think the main reason for the dislike of Hatton by some Americans is simply jealousy. No current American boxer is 42-0 or better, and Hatton's only age 28. A few people see Hatton is a threat to their world - they prefer to have the top boxers being black and American. That's what they're used to, they like it being that way. So they attempt to discredit him.

Another reason is that a some people simply dislike English people - example, Mel Gibson has said publicly that he hates the English. Our Canadian "expert" on boxing, TSN's Russ Anber, feels the same way.

That being said, obviously the American sportswriters didn't hate him when they chose him Fighter of the Year for 2005. Most American boxing fans of all races respect Ricky Hatton, it is only a few haters that are so vocal they make it seem like all Americans hate him.

Jealousy? Were not the ones that are pro fighters so why would we be jealous.

I think these are some of the reasons why he's not liked. I know I was interested in seeing him fight after hearing the hype & seeing some his early fights on Showtime. He just hasn't delivered since his arrival in the States & we're all still waiting another mega fight for him. And with the clinching in his later fights aren't helping his popularity at all.

But I guess what I'm really struggling to understand is why a lot of NSB posters are full of ****, right?

Yeah, that kind of logic gets me as well.

I do actually prefer Floyd's style of boxing, but stuff like the Baldomir fight isn't exactly edge of the seat stuff.

I hear ya. He gets ****ted on alot in this forum unnecessarily. People have to give him some credit for leaving that greedy bastard Frank Warren. And 2 that at least he's trying to make a name for himself outside the comforts of his home. You have to respect a fighter for doing that & the JLC fight is a step in the right direction. It's what he does after the JLC fight that's going to make or break him I believe.

That's just it. He had a few bad performances and people are already hating on him. You know, I have a lot of his earlier fights and I see a guy who comes to fight everytime with alot of talent. To tell you the truth, I'd rather see him fight then Mayweather. The only times I think Mayweathers fights are exciting is when someone pressures him to fight. Other then that I'll just turn around a go to sleep. At leaset with Hatton, you kniw you'll get some excitment.

Well why you quoting me? I think Mayweather is boring too.

But he has fought a better class of fighters also.He doesnt get hit with his boringness,Hatton STILL gets hit with his boringness.There is a difference.
