Why do Fat Yanks dislike Hatton so much, in general?

Nah, you're generalising... on more than one level. Never say expressions like "you guys", as if an entire nation has a group mentality. It's a country, not the Midwich Cuckoos. And the "all the best fights/fighters happen in the States" is a myth, too. What about novice heavies in Russia that are just getting started? Are they garbage because they "haven't come over the States" yet? Or what about guys who fight in the states that are protected, like Lacy or Hopkins's nephew? There's no polemic.

Again, the point is, why the animosity towards the guy? Indifference/disapproval I can understand, but some guys on here make a career out of ragging the guy, and it ain't healthy.

I don't dislike the man, far from it, he seems like a great down to earth guy. I just think his wins and for that matter his career is highly overrated as his best win is an over the hill Tszyu. I guess a lot of former Tszyu fans might have a lot of disdain for Hatton because that fight seemed dirty to most with Hatton's use of rough-house tactics and home brewed refereeing. His "huggy" style as of late hasn't won many fans over either...plain and simple he hasn't lived up to all his hype and Americans don't like his "coward's way out" of the 147lb. division after Collazo beat him up. He can atone for all this however, he has to put up a good showing against Castillo and beat him decisively. After this though, he will still need to do more.....

I never used to like the guy at all myself, but I've started to feel sorry for the guy after hearing how he ****s kittens on here every single day of the week.

I don't get it, the numbers don't add up. It seems like at least 70-80% of US posters on here really dislike the guy, which is at odds with what I'd expect.

I'm trying to understand it... I mean, is it just that most of his most vocal detractors have low IQs and the reading/writing age of 11 year olds? (you know who you are already).

I read lots of ****** **** about him that's completely disproportionate to the reality, or comments from people who then say stuff like "I've only seen 1 Hatton fite."

If you've only seen two or three fights, you should really, you know... shut the **** up and get educated. I never post about ANY boxer on here until I've seen AT LEAST four of their fights. But then what do I know, I'm just the guy who told you Miranda was one or two fights away from a defeat....

Although The Paler has had a few below par performances of late (he had a viral infection for Urango, apparently, hence the late hugging) I'd expect to see at least a 50-50 split in terms of like/dislike.

So what's the deal?

I was impressed with hatton against tszyu, i've never seen someone put kostya under that much pressure before whilst walking through his punches, he had no answer to hatton's constant attack. Hatton had to fight that way, if he tried to outbox tszyu, he would have ended up like judah.

Kostya simply said he was beaten by a better,younger fighter. There were no excuses from him.
