Why do Fat Yanks dislike Hatton so much, in general?

This is a really good post and I try and stay away from the "fat yank" jibes myself. You have a real point: Why do Hatton fans care if Americans don't like him? Well I'm sure most of us don't care. I'm alright ignoring the hate. It makes it harder to ignore when every other thread on here is "Was Hatton's last opponent any good?" or "Can Hatton beat anyone at 147?" or whatever. Then every positive topic about Hatton is littered with "OMG Hatton is HUGS! LOLZ!11" comments from the remedial section. I know people don't like Hatton and I can live with that, I respect it too. But that doesn't mean I don't get irritated by all the negativity. What a dumbass statement. Just horrible and a slap in the face to boxing fans all over the world. So is your favorite boxers list in your sig an attempt at reverse racism? Besides one black dude, your own taste shows some bias so maybe you should chill with the speculation of who boxing fans would rather see at the top in terms of race/ethnicity. What a joke.
But anyhow, Ricky Hatton deserves a lot of respect IMO. He shows great skills, toughness, heart, hangs with the common folk, influences kids positively, and is just overall great for the sport. I guess he's everything that a boxer should be nowadays. He's had a few rocky fights, but most fighters go through that at some point in their career, especially after 42 fights.
Why do European (mainly UK) fans give a **** about what Americans think about Hatton. It screams of you begging for us to accept Hattin when you make strictly threads about European fighters and then attempt to assume why Americans dislike them. Get over it and get off the net if you don't like what you see. Go support your boy on a Hatton message board if you can't deal with the criticism and then sink to pathetic, not-even-remotely-funny insults like "fat yanks" or whatever.Comment

Hatton is doing well in america isnt he? So i dont know if he is hated by Yanks? Maybe yanks on this board dont like him because he is a successful English dude beating up the americans and the americans never like Brits beating the americans do they?
They didnt like LL beating up on them as well!Comment

The only person bringing up race in this thread is you, that should tell you something. It's not racist to root for a boxer(s) who's the same nationality or race as you are - many people do. What is nasty and/or racist is someone having an avator or a signature that's deliberately degrading to a certain nationality or race. If someone came on this board day after day trying to discredit boxers of a certain nationality, creating threads and posts to try to prove fighters of a certain nationality or race are inferior, then that person is racist or prejudiced.Comment

Chill out, Fatty.
The bottom line is, I log into NSB to see sensible boxing discussion. When I don't see any, it makes my soul bleed.Comment

I'm gonna let some of you Brits understand a little of America's culture so you can get it. It has nothing to do with race or national pride about the question marks reguarding Hatton. What it has to do with is, "show me", plain and simple.
Your so great and such a badass, then SHOW ME. I don't know what it's like in Europe but here in the states it's all about what you can do for me right now. Money runs this country and if Hatton comes out and beats every contender in his weight class and shows to be indestructable, American will embrace him with open arms, guaranteed. In the U.S.A we like a winner, plain and simple. We don't care what color you are, what nationality, religion, it's about winning over on this side of the pond.
Winning sells tickets and not just that you win but HOW you win. I don't like or dislike Hatton to be honest with you. I just wish he would fight the top level opponents and Castillo is a very good start. I know you guys are proud of being British (with one T) but the best boxing on the planet is done on this side of the world. Like it or not, that's the fact. We do it bigger, better, stronger and faster. And if you wanna be the best here, then you better SHOW ME and stop telling me about it.Comment
