    Like i said there is a huge misconception based soley on what people see on tv its unfortunate people.

    There are just as many fans of the technique of mixed martial arts as there is of boxing and there are just as many fans of the ,action and knock outs in both sports , mixed martial arts is huge over seas , especially japan, brazil ,thailand, ,pride fighting and k1 have had audiences of 60,000+,its a bliss to see that people base mma on UFC especially when people start categorizing ufc as the sport meanwhile its a organization

    MMA= self defense class.

    and your wrong the majority of the people who watch it dont care for technique only blood and hopefully soemones arm get mangled or die.
    People who like technique are wrestling collegiate fans, boxing fans, jiu jitsu fans, or judo etc.
    those sports are way more tougher then mma...mma is easier because you are not LIMITED! thats why so many guys like it cause now they can say they are a fighter look at the people anyone can get lucky in ufc, I would rather watch a superior Wrestling match then most of the **** on UFC. If i wanted to watch that ill just watch my friends fight in the backyard.

        It's funny all these elite boxers always say there's no skills in mma. What they should say is a mma fighter's BOXING skill is no where as good as a boxer which makes sense cuz the boxer only dedicate his whole time in perfecting his hands only while the mma has to train every part of his body.
        If you good at math and you spend 10 years just studying math, then chances are you're gonna be better at math than someone who has to study math, history, biology, physics, music, psychology, chemistry ..
        But that someone is gonna be better than you at subjects other than math.

          now your just reaching with the ignorance , mma= self defense?

          mma = mixed martial arts

          boxing +striking is classified as a martial art and practice in most of the same systems of the sweet science.

          wrestling collegiate ,boxing,jiu jitsu plus more are all applyed in MMA fights
          so how are they much tougher when your using all genres of fighting in one fight if anything its more tactical when your trying to defend a thai clinch you also are cautious of defending strikes and defending a take down if some one takes you down then you multi task techniques,this just tells me your being judgemental off what you see on tv and in the media and not the true art because your not making any sense ,if i wanted to watch boxing i could watch that in my backyard too , i could set up a ring and have my boys rock out vise versa for a mma fight.

            MMA is a sport. MMA requires strength, speed, power, agility, coordination, timing, stamina, tactics, strategy and heart.

            Just like boxing.

              Ur opiions remind me of people who dont understand and are not fans of boxing.
              They say boxing is just 2 guys punching each other, and u can watch that on a saturday night outside a club.

              If wrestling, boxing and all other martial arts/combat sports take skill, than how can a sport that includes all of these require no skill?

              When it comes down to it they train very hard and deserve respect just as boxers do.

                  Domain is an idiot, plain and simple. If mma is so easy, take your ass down to an mma gym and drop a challenge.

                    What it comes down to is skill boxers are skilled and naturally gifted all ufc fighters are skin head white rednecks who fight in bars.
                    Also you wouldnt give an mma fighter a chance ina boxing ring as he'd proberly die but you would give a boxer a chance in an mma ring cause he could ko any ufc/mma fighter with one combo, kind of shows who the better fighters are doesnt it.
                    To add to this why are ufc etc. trying to get boxers in an octagon but they forget to try and get say chuck liddel (the best puncher in ufc) or any other mma fighter in a boxing ring with a world champ, i know why cause the mma fighter would get beat down in about 30 seconds thats why.
