The gogo injuries come from too much pressure being on the knee when going for the shin choke. The guy ends up ripping out his own leg. Usually happens to guy who don't have the flexibility for it, or guys who don't have the hip movement right. It jacks up the knee pretty bad, and requires surgery and rehab for the next 6+ months.

What sport are we talking about?

I just think the guys in boxing arent educated enough on the sport, so they assume it takes no skill. When you first start watching it, its easy to make that assumption.

ufc is like for fun people who wanna see someone get beat the crap outta...you think the people who are watching that care about technique? hell no they only wanna see some blooda nd savagery like a video game...why else do you think none of those ufc fans ever watched boxing because it was too difficult for them to enjoy it because of there ADD.

your exactly right UFC is not a sport

its a organization just like the N.B.A. ,N.F.L. ,M.L.B, WWE

            the sport is MMA

Like i said there is a huge misconception based soley on what people see on tv its unfortunate people.

There are just as many fans of the technique of mixed martial arts as there is of boxing and there are just as many fans of the ,action and knock outs in both sports , mixed martial arts is huge over seas , especially japan, brazil ,thailand, ,pride fighting and k1 have had audiences of 60,000+,its a bliss to see that people base mma on UFC especially when people start categorizing ufc as the sport meanwhile its a organization

This hoopla about boxing and mma is similar to rugby and football. Similar...yet totally different.

              Neither side will die.

UFC will grow....but it needs to get rid of that WWF/NASCAR feel. So far, it's more like a barnyard fiasco than a professional sport. I wish Pride didn't sell itself off to UFC. At least they had that old electric feel that big boxing matches had.

Your ignorant. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't alot of boxing fans pissed at Mayweather's technique? Don't they want to see 'blooda nd savagery' instead of his technique(that has won ALL of his fights so far, btw)?

** I'll pick Marvin over you anyday. What he means is that half the sport is upright striking, which compared to boxing is very primative. Then there is the ground strikes, which is pretty much like he said, you can see that stuff in Anycity, USA every night of the week.

Now we are down to the holds, many of which can be found in pro wrestling. So now we're down to a few holds, kicks and chokes, and by this time Marv is just plain disgusted, but hey, he's a HOF purist. Don't think many football fans are gonna be tuning into the Rugby Championships either!

You do realize that MMA is a mix of all those things combined. So how could it not be a sport?

                      ww

A gogoplata. A choke that requires a certain amount of flexibility and strength. If one doesn't have neither of these elements, one is liable to pull or break tendons in their knees or feet.
