Trying to say which one involves more skill is a pointless debate. Most MMA fighters couldn’t win a boxing match, and most boxers couldn’t win a MMA match. They are two different sports, period.

Why the **** people keep comparing boxing to UFC is beyond me.
They are different sports!! Different rules, different disiplines.
It is about which is better or worse or more or less skillful.

Hagler is just a big boxing fan that maybe sees UFC as a threat to boxing. He cant see skill in it because he doesnt understand it.
Of course it takes alot of skill. As does any other sport.

Well, by the same token, jogging is worst for you in the long run then taking a few hard leg kicks. However, Gogo injuries have to be among the worst long-term injuries though it's not that bad at first.

No, you can't compare jogging with getting repeatedly and deliberately kicked in the legs.

              What is a gogo injury?

Unless we're talking shin vs shin kicks the long-term damage is MUCH greater by jogging every day. The constant up and down motion tears the daylights out of your cartilage, which in turn requires major knee surgery around the 50 year mark.

Gogo injuries come from a guard position, when a person on the bottom pulls his leg over the shoulder of his opponent putting them into rubberguard position. He then pulls his leg further and slides his shin underneath his opponents neck, and pulls down on his opponents head to choke his out. The gogo injuries come from too much pressure being on the knee when going for the shin choke. The guy ends up ripping out his own leg. Usually happens to guy who don't have the flexibility for it, or guys who don't have the hip movement right. It jacks up the knee pretty bad, and requires surgery and rehab for the next 6+ months.

with unfortunate honorable mention there has been more deaths in boxing then there has been in mma ,according to sources there has never been one death in mma. the safety of mma rest assures that as tactical as the sport migh be something as easy a simple sumbission or quick fight could benefit safety opose to fighting 12 rounds with as many punches are thrown and landed.

I think you are going way overboard on trying to give jogging a bad rap. There are plenty of older joggers and marathon runners.

Yes, knees and shins. That's what they aim for in MMA.

Well, boxing has been around MUCH longer than MMA and is much more popular around the world. There will be deaths in MMA, but right now I am concerned with the debilitating lifetime injuries, namely in the legs.
