I was satisfied with Floyd's performance on Saturday night because it is the best he can do. He's an excellent boxer/technician and that's what he showed. Does it inspire me? No. Is he an all time great? No. If he retires now he will be comparible to Marciano. Unbeaten but never really tested. He'll be HOF but in ten years time he'll be lightly considered and in 50 years time noone will have ever heard of him.
Will later boxers call themselves 'Pretty Boy' in testament to him? Will people name their children Floyd because of who he is and what he achieved?
He's a wonderfully gifted talent with the dedication to maximize it but he isn't legendary (Hopkins has cornered the tough ******** angle for this generation), he isn't flashy and exciting despite avoiding great competition like RJJ, and you only have to look to Hagler to see how to overcome continuous underestimation.
Floyd HAS to fight on, put more names on his resume if he wants to have a meaningful, complimentary legacy. His last few years have been an easy route (for his level of talent) and that is what many people see. If you want to be mentioned in conversations about 'The Greatest' and you don't inspire people (A la Tyson) then you have to take away the doubting arguments.
    Floyd can do it.
    Will he do it?

He's a boring fighter, no one cares about him. It's like some type of people try to make him be something he's not... A fun fighter to watch. He's a loser. And what this fight proved was that Oscar and floyd probably both have weak chins, and thats why they ****** offensively. Which is ridiculous, since I can't believe how defensive Oscar was fighting since he was fighting a 148 pound fight and Oscar probably was like 164 or more during fight night. Almost 20 pounds more then floyd!!! And still fought like ****??? Wth

If you are happy and 100% satisfied with the way Floyd fought Saturday night, then you are either very easily satisfied, or you are sycophantic. In other words, you do not question anything Floyd does, and your view of reality is askew.

Floyd did not give his best; did not show the fans what we wanted.

He will be remembered as a great fighter who did not quite satisfy, if he stays retired.
When you factor in that Floyd is 20 lbs. above his best weight, had never fought at 154, Oscar has fought at 154 or higher the last 6 years, Oscar picked the gloves, Oscar picked the location, Oscar picked the date, Oscar forced Mayweather to sit out for 6 months, many felt this was a 50/50 fight, and Floyd still managed to beat a legend, then that is pretty ****ing impressive no matter how much you don't want to admit it...

Pound 4 Pound, Mayweather knocks DLH out with the type of shots he was landing. He buckled DLH a couple of times with well-timed counters and he has no power above 140...

exactly opposite of how I feel and how atg's are viewed. You dont here people talking about atg's based on how many wins they had, they talk about the qualities that that made them great, the great fights they were in how they fought the best and dominated them. It is sad this has to be explained but it explains a lot.

There is no way in a cold blue hell that Floyd would ever have KOd Oscar. But at least some of you are starting to be honest and answer the question.

People are saying they are satisfied through other means and other ways as opposed to giving you the direct answer your looking for.
Well then that says it all, doesn't it?

Easily satisfied seems to be the predominant answer here. 'A title in every weight class'.

Some of you fail to grasp the importance of HOW you win...not just that you get the nod.

                  Moving on.
I grasp what you are saying, but PBF with his hands and stature doesn't have many ways to beat Oscar or any of the other BIG welters. The one way he does have at his disposal is good enough. We know what his fight game is all about. Hit and not get hit in return. Its up to his opponent to get him out of his comfort zone and rhythm. His record shows, knowing what his game is and doing something about it is harder than it looks.
