      Hatton vs. Witter

I thnk if Witter would really establish himself by first fighting and beating someone competitive like Vivian Harris, than Hatton should face him. Otherwise, Hatton vs. Witter would be a meaningless waste of time.

This is all i can find at the moment, there is plenty more evidence of Ricky Hatton lieing and contradicting himself constantly, it was hilarious finding these links and trying to get them into some kind of order, Hatton talks so much crap its hard to work out whats the truth and what isnt.

If i have time ill find more, theres plenty outthere, ive seen better links than these, ones where Hatton admits he priced himself out, if anyone can post them up, that would be great.

Ricky says it is a done deal to fight Mayweather in 2006

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Ricky wants two more fights before saying he wants Floyd at 147, Roger Mayweather says Floyd wants Hatton.

Hatton lies out of his ass by saying he would love to fight Junior Witter, He later went on to say he would never fight him. lol

        http://www.*********.com/watt150.htm

Lmao, in this interview he says he wants to fight Mayweather, but he's moving back down to 140 as he 'doesnt want to chase mayweather's shadows'.

Lmao, he also says he thinks he could be fighting Mayweather in fights 2 and 3 of his HBO deal.

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Hatton says he 'isn't aware' priced himself out of a fight with Mayweather because his next two HBO fights are done deals. lol

Hatton says he never intended to fight mayweather in his 3 fight deal with HBO because of problems outside the ring, he says he willing to go back up to 147 to fight Mayweather (knowing Floyd is moving up 154) lol.

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, bbc.co.uk, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

Hatton now says he never intended to fight Floyd at all, saying 'it would be foolish to fight Mayweather in his 1st fight in America

None of this is conclusive. As we're all aware negotiations happen between fighters all the time. Mayweather didn't want any part of Hatton either. He didn't stick around at 140 long enough to secure a fight with Hatton, he was happy with Gatti's strap. Hatton approached a fight with Mayweather with caution, which is wise, but Mayweather used more caution by refusing to contemplate it and adressing him as someone to "buckle his shoes" or some such nonsense.

God knows why Hatton doesnt want to fight Witter (and that is clearly the case - Witter and Hennessy would jump at that fight so there's only one reason thats's not happening) be would surely win, and it would be a huge fight in the UK with a lot of interest from the States (if there was any interest for Juan Urango then surely there would be for Witter). I don't understand it to be honest but there we go. Maybe Hatton isnt as confident in his ability to beat Junior as I am, or maybe he honestly doesnt see it as a big fight. Whatever the reason, I do think it is a big possibility as a fight after Castillo, win or lose. If he loses it's a good way back to the top, if he wins then it's a belt - one he's never held - and a big fight.

As for Dino's original, frankly idiotic, post

            1.mayweather-LOSE
            2.mosley-WIN
            3.cotto-LOSE in a close fight
            4.baldomir- win fairly easily
            5.margarito-WIN a toughie
            6.williams- WIN fairly easily
            7.judah-WIN
            8.citron-WIN
            9.clottey-WIN
            10.quitana-WIN

i think urkal could out point hatton 12 - you would, Dino, cos you're a prick. Urkal would be outpunched and outfought and maybe even stopped.

Hatton is a lot better than some Yanks give him credit for and is probably a bit worse than we think he is.

I can think of reasons why Hatton dont want witter. Witter is trying to use Hatton to get respect as a boxer and because WItter has talked ****e about Hatton b4 he doesnt want to give Witter the opportunity.
Hatton wants bigger names on his resume and with Castillo, PBF, Cotto being mentioned he is going about the right way. And although it woiuld be nice to have Witters belts, Hatton has been fortunate that he hasnt had any problems getting belts for his own already.
But who knows Hatton may choose to box Witter at some point, but u cant look beyond yoiur next fight and Hatton is busy of late.

Please find a quote where someone, anyone, says that Mayweather ducked Hatton. We can find millions that say Hatton ducked Mayweather. There's one where Hatton says he didn't ask for $13 million, his father did since his dad is in charge of his business matters. So I guess Ricky didn't duck Mayweather. It was Ray Hatton! lol

                      Check this out: http://www.fightfan.com/interviews/0806-Hatton.htm

FightFan: Floyd Mayweather has said several times in the press in recent months that you demanded 13 Million dollars to fight him. Was such a fight ever discussed and can you comment on the validity of his statement?

RH: I don’t remember saying that exactly, but it was probably something in that region. I think it’s a mega fight worth a lot of money, but that end of it is really up to my father and my team to negotiate. I think it’s a fight people really want to see because people know Floyd moved up to welterweight without fighting the Lt welterweight champion. I think a fight between he and I could be one of the biggest fights to be made in boxing.
