Ben Tackie was ranked ninth in the division when Hatton beat him, Castillo is number one contender, Tszyu was champ and also ranked third pound for pound, Collazo was I think fourth at Welter, Maussa was also ranked when Hatton beat him based on his victory over Harris, so Hatton has taken on ranked guys relatively recently and beat them all.

Ben Tackie is a shocking fighter who defends with his head, no one cares about the Alphabet rankings at times they are pure bull****.

Maussa is cack, regardless of wether he beat Vivan Harris or not.

These are fighters ranked by The Ring magazine, nothing to do with the alphabets.

Ring magazine rating dont mean much to me either, they dont account for some incredibly poor divisions.

Example, being ranked number 5 at 147, is not the same as being ranked number 5 at 168, one divison is miles better than the other.

Agreed but if you're talking about ranked fighters it can't always be people that are ranked outside of your division. If you're talking about ranked fighters, well Bernard Hopkins is highly ranked but you wouldn't expect Manny pacquiao to fight him just because of it. Hatton has taken on guys ranked in the 140 lb division, so it isn't like he's avoided all the top guys for his weight.

Hatton Avioded mayweather at 140, who was WBC champ

Now he is Avioding Witter who is also WBC champ, and who has offered to give Hatton his purse if he Loses.

Witter is a gob****e who has been using Hatton to attempt to accellerate his career from day one. When a fighter offers to fight for free what they are doing is lying. No prizefighter would fight for free, let alone one with a WBC championship strap. Hatton hasn't been avoiding Witter for any other reason than he doesn't want to reward him for all the crap over the years.

Hatton did not avoid Mayweather at 140, Mayweather beat up Henri Bruselles and Arturo Gatti, proclaimed himself champ and moved on. Making claims about Hatton's pay demands is pretty poor form but that was all the excuses Floyd needed to not bother fighting the linear champ. In any case he was chasing his multiple divisional titles, and was concerned with quantity not quality. In short six o one half a dozon o t'other

But there again the criticism wasn't specific fighters, it was ranked fighters. Hatton has been fighting ranked fighters, and his next fight is against a ranked fighter, so the criticism really isn't valid.

And the end of the day Hatton is a p4p or elite fighter because he beat a p4p fighter. He should box Witter for the belts at the end of the day, but by beating him doesnt really make him more highly rated because i guess Kostya is better than Witter by a long way anyhows. And Witter is **** by the looks of it.
