    let's see....
cotto - L (bad, bad matchup for ricky, i think he would get knocked out in about 8)
cintron- hatton would win if he can stay on his feet. cintron has monster punching power but hatton is twenty times better then any of cintrons competition
williams - too much speed, height, reach - bad matchup for ricky
baldomir - i think it would be a drawish. baldomir is massive and wouldn't lay down to any of hatton's shots. hatton could pot shot him or swarm him to victory.
    clottey- foty. pick'em
quintana - he would **** quintana.
margarito - i think margarito would probably win.

140 is where ricky should be fighting.

U gotta pick Hatton over cintron, lets not overdo Kermit yet, Hatton would get through that defence.

      Hatton> Baldomir, UD.

Margarito, hmmm, close one, ill go with Hatton by decision.

Dont know about Clottey and Quintana.

Cotto vs Hatton is a pick'em fight, totally, mabye cotto has the edge in that one, but i wouldn't write hatton off in that one.

I Would pick Williams over hatton.

cintron is starting to fight like tommy hearns, i dont think cintron/hatton would go 6 rounds, it depends on how hatton's chin holds up

and who brought this topic back up, i started this like 6 months ago

Willie Pep couldn't handle Lightweight so I guess he wasn't an elite fighter either. Last I heard Hatton beat Collazo, and he did it without preparing properly. p4p is subjective in the extreme - in the end it doesn't mean squat. And saying Hatton isn't elite because he isn't Roberto Duran is a bit like saying Bernard Hopkins isn't elite because he isn't Harry Greb.

Hatton never intended to move up in the first place. He had already been training to fight Juan Lazcano, but Juan got injured in training, so they went with plan B on short notice. Fighting Collazo was not the best thing to do in terms of presenting yourself to an American audience, since he is slick, skilled, taller and probably stronger than Ricky. Hatton won the fight on activity, but looked shaky in doing so. The late preparation and bad dieting didn't help either, but the fact is - he beat him. Hatton's only reason for being at Welterweight is Mayweather. All these mutant Welterweights like Margo and Williams don't belong in the same ring as Hatton, those are mismatches. Mayweather is a different case. Both are similarly matched physically - and neither is a natural welterweight. The only other big guys Hatton would probably face are De La Hoya (for obvious reasons) or Cotto. I sincerely doubt he'll be fighting the likes of Margo or Williams.

hatton was getting beat up by collazo and collazo is not even considered as one of the top welter weights. as far as power gos collazo ate everything hatton threw at him and i believe every other welter weight would do the same

Hatton fought Collazo at short notice and put on weight too fast, too soon, resulting in a sloppy performance (which he still won).

Generalising about a fighters potential performance in a division after that preparation is not going to be very accurate.

Try and remember what happened to Mayweather when he was exposed by Castillo at a lighter weight.

It is fairly simple, the fact that Castillo ran Mayweather close shows that Mayweather is not indomitable and is therefore beatable.
