When Manny hits you, It's with more body force than Juarez. That's what I understood from Stewards comments. It sounds and looks true, once you look at the both of them and their punches.

True, but pushing punches is a completely different subject. You aren't going to be throwing 80 punches a round for 12 rounds pushing them. That really isn't humanly possible.

        That sounds right....

Manny mainly gets his effectiveness by being able to switch up the way he throws punches. He'll throw a straight left like a spear, and then bludgeon you with wuick flurries. Now, I actually think that Juarez is the bigger puncher, but he lacks the speed and range of punches that Manny's got.

I noticed this also, from begining to end he would look down at his feet and Miranda finally caught on and was bum rushing him at the end. Maybe he is OC cause it was weird. great fight last night both guys had thier moments but Miranda was the better man. I do think cutting to make the weight was a small issue cause Green seemed sapped but that was definitely far from his biggest problems

            I'd say it was a great 3 rounds.... 8,9, and 10.

But I don't think Green has OC... he never did this on any other fight that I've seen him in.

What the hell would cause him to do this? I'm perplexed to say the least.

i like allen green, and i knew this would be a tough fight for him. i'm not making excuses for the guy but this was the first time he'd fought a top 10 contender, he was really stepping up, there's a big gap in the competition green was fighting before ( good prospects, not contenders ) and he was a little weight drained, he should stay at 168, but mostly once he had miranda in front of him he was scared of getting caught. it's no big deal, now he should get some confidence even in this loss because he survived 10 rounds against a stronger guy who is the uncrowned IBF champ.

i also think green depends on his reflexes too much, he's a little too much like his hero - RJJ. to fight a guy like miranda u need to be more like pavlik - kelly depends on technique

Really I'm just pissed that Taylor - Calzaghe won't happen because there is too much excitement at middleweight. No one is even demanding this fight anymore, and we might be stuck with Calzaghe -- Hopkins instead.
The people at HBO like the way Miranda fights, more than they like the way Taylor fights. That's obvious, because of the hype-job they've put on Miranda. So, they're just hyping Miranda, in case he does fight Taylor and knock him out. Because they know that Miranda would generate much more cashflow than Taylor, as a reigning champion. Did you see how the Puerto Rican crowd was behind him? That was awesome. Miranda would be a good reigning champion, not to say Taylor isn't; Taylor is a very nice guy, just not a people's champion, like Miranda would be. He's proof of the American dream, is he not? I see potential in Miranda to become a reigning legend, especially after seeing him absorb Green's left hook, right on the button, and instead of backing away and trying to survive when he was hurt, he leaned into Green, still throwing shots. Reminds me of George Foreman when he fought Holyfield. Absorbing punishment and just plodding forward. He has proven that he has a hell of a chin, great power, and is improving his technique. He doesn't take **** either, try to clinch him and you're gonna take that right hand rabbit shot, and it's gonna hurt. I can't wait until he learns how to use his head. He should learn from Hopkins and Holyfield, it would benefit his aggressiveness. I like how he would crouch down and come out of the crouch with a left hook. Interesting stuff last Saturday.

Great post. Edison is learning and getting better with each fight. He is more unconventional than sloppy. Against a guy like Green who has good skills, being unconventional is a big advantage. Green had no idea what punch or combo would come next or where it would come from.

If Pantera can get though Pavlik and Taylor, especially with knockouts, he would be one of the biggest stars for HBO. IMO, he has a very good chance of accomplishing this. This is why they are hyping him so much.

And the same could be said for having Pavlik on B.A.D. The producers realized that the Winky fight cast doubt on their star, so they went out and drudged up two guys who can look great against inferior opposition but are guaranteed to be picked apart by a decent fighter. Before the miranda hype we thought Taylor would have to go to 168 for competition, but seeing as either Joe or Kessler would have their way with him, HBO was forced to make it look like there was competition at 160, when in fact there isn't.
Taylor is not that good.....Winky beat him most know that and he is not exactly a big guy.Miranda would punish Taylor if you ask me.Taylor can't handle aggression, I mean Winky is not very aggressive but was more than usual vs Taylor and he gave Taylor all he can handle......Miranda would simply drive Taylor crazy and force him into a fight and once that happens Taylor is done.
