Cotto's chin is amazing IMO. He can get phased quite quickly, it seems, but trying to get him out of there after that initial stunning is another matter entirely. I can't believe the sheer amount of flush shots he took off Torres without going down (it was a push IMO)

good points. i think cotto should prob be no. 10 or maybe just a lil bit lower.
But 1 thing i agree wit is hatton should def not be in the top 10, imo top even in the top 20

But he might have as much heart as anyone so in my book that negates that. He can recover quickly from being floored much like Corrales can, and that makes him dangerous in coalition with his punch. All you have to do is watch his fight against Torres..an extremely hard puncher to see that he doesn't fold in fights.

          and on a side note:

I remember right after the Corley fight.....people were making threads hating on Cotto....some of them were absurd. If I'm not mistaken, and I'm not going to search for it....there was a thread about a prospect fight between Arturo Gatti and Miguel Cotto. The majority of the people were claiming that all Gatti had to do was land 1 left hook and the fight was over.

I wonder what they think now, after Gatti was knocked out by Carlos "Tata" Baldomir....and Cotto is steamrolling opposition.
Cotto got hate for the Corley fight because it was clearly stopped prematurely by a bias judge not long after Cotto was hurt by Corley.

As for why Cotto isn't a top 10 P4P fighter: Who has he beat? His best wins are probably Corley and Maussa. As I said, the Corley fight was stopped prematurely but he was going to KO Corley eventually. Why give Cotto credit for Corley, when it was considered an easy fight when Floyd fought Corley (which was before Cotto did)? Maussa has proven to be a complete bum.

Aside from those two, all he's beaten are prospects or guys who are past it. The one fight I give Cotto props for his the N'Dou fight, but he was in total survival mode in the last few rounds. Cotto has to beat Margarito impressively to get consideration as a P4P fighter...

He was in Boxing mode and he was tired in the N'Dou fight. I luiv that fight and Cotto seemed to be enjoying himself. I picked Floyd to beat Chop Chop just as i did Cotto but I knew he had ability and neither would hav an easy night against him! The time Cotto got hurt by him aside i thought he was excellent! Floyd got stunned to mind

I know it was some time on, but Witter had his way with Chop Chop. Am I alone in wanting to see Witter in with the big boys?

I wish more people would think like that.

he does have a tremendous chin, but he will look bad taking as many punches as he did with torres against margarito, i always say on that fight what saved him was his conditioning, dedication and preparation for the fight and of course his big heart kept him in the fight
