Even if Mayweather beats Delahoya, does that make him a legend ? ? ?

True regardless of that he has been one of my favorite fighters of this era. But two losses to Vernon Forrest two losses to Winky Wright and since the Wright fights he has beet a shot Fernando Vargas who is no where as good as he once was before Tito Trinidad busted his balls so many times and ****ed him up (if it wasn't for all the intentional low blows I think dude could have won that.) I dunno dude I don't think I can agree with you on that.. . I would say they are in the same area when it comes to skills with Oscar being on top just a tiny bit.Comment

This fight won't really help Mayweather as much as it should IMO. If he wins, he beats an out of prime DLH who has only fought Mayorga in the last 2 years. DLH is a world class fighter and PBF should get the credit he deserves, especilly moving up in weight to fight him. Mayweather just doesn't get the credit he deseverse, and he may never get it if he retires after the fight, even with a win.Comment

legend
"A legend (Latin, legenda, "things to be read") is a narrative of human actions that are perceived both by teller and listeners to take place within human history and to possess certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude. Legend, for its active and passive participants, includes no happenings that are outside the realm of "possibility", defined by a highly flexible set of parameters, which may include miracles that are perceived as actually having happened, within the specific tradition of indoctrination where the legend arises, and within which it may be transformed over time, in order to keep it fresh and vital, and realistic."
does this fit his profile??....I think Oscar will add to the story but PBF needs to end it with a ****. Kind of how Oscar wants to end it.Comment

Take both's primes, and Shane was clearly the greater man. Like I said, Oscar's NEVER been dominant. Anywhere. I'll admit that overall, Oscar's had a better level of oppositon, but that doesn't mean he was decisively beating them, like Shane did. And if you follow Shane's career, you'll see a DRASTIC change in his style as he moves up in weight. At 135 to 140, he was the complete package, and considered on of the harder punchers around. But as he moved up, his skill was mostly what carried him, until the naturally bigger guys at 154 made him look bad.Comment

I think both of them need this fight... look Oscar has struggled in his biggest match up and Floyd has fought some pretty weak opposition in these last few years. DeMarcus Corley, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah had all suffered a loss right before stepping into the ring with mayweather. Corley has just fought Judah, Mitchell had been KO by Kostya Tszyu and Judah had lost to Baldomir. Yeah he humiliated Gatti but Oscar did that wayyyy before him. He hasn't fought any grade A opposition with his best fight since 2002 being Judah. And Oscar is two in four and is getting old and past his prime.. not to mention that he has been really inactive over the last few years.Comment

You know what, If he's shooting for "Legend" status, he should make this fight. I bet he's more willing to take it than you are willing to watch it happen. Oscar gave it a try against Hopkins, who has that same frame as Taylor. Oscar started at 130 just like Floyd........why not. He wants to be a "Legend"........that's what this thread is about right.........go to dictionary.com and look up the definition of legend homie.Comment
