Not seeing much precedent... What happens when a puncher meets a puncher? We saw Foreman and Lyle... wow! what a battle. We saw Lewis when he was at his worse against Vitalie. Bowe fought Holly who could punch... But not much to go by. Lewis was an incredible fighter but never really was in against a puncher that could make him fight defensively as the boxer. Foreman would be that guy. Bowe was too inconsistent to render an opinion. When Holt listened to Turner and boxed he won against Bowe... Naturally Bowe was the bigger puncher and it showed in the final results...

And Vitali and Joshua might perhaps outrank him as well. I put Bowe on even terms with soulmate Greg Page. What separates them cheifly was that Bowe was much more carefully managed; but on each man's respective 3 best aggregate nights, I go with the Rage, to tell the truth. Rewatch his prime. When impassioned, that sucker could move.
The same Hyde that Vit dispatched early doors with a jab.
Greats don't get knocked down by Butterbean, nor kicked to Bolivia via Timbuktu by 185 lb Muy Thai fighters.

But by out rank do you mean resume? Because head to head I couldnt put joshua, klitschko (wlad), fury and most of all Wilder ahead of him. Those guys are all packing glass and have never faced someone of bowes calibre.
Foreman is of a different class though. On their best nights Foreman obliterates them allLast edited by them_apples; 05-12-2022, 08:57 PM.JAB5239 likes this.
