You are still lying about this. It was a joke and everyone was well aware that it was a joke. You are such a disgusting, deceitful and dishonest person. I've made this clear over and over, and as per your usual M.O., you ignore it for your obvious agenda.

Here it is as it appears in Unforgivable Blackness.

An obvious joke when he was giving an interview after doing Vaudeville, to which the reporters laughed off.

Of course he pulled out of the match in 1909. His word mean &#^t.

        You information is solid.
Johnson knew he would beat Burns when he signed to fight Langford, it was inevitable given Burns was only 5’7” and weighed only 168 for his fight with Johnson due to an illness that was either jaundice or flu. Another woefully outsized opponent that would become a notch on Johnson’s belt.

Had Johnson truly wanted to fight Langford, McVea or Jeanette he would have done so, and as you said, he had multiple lucrative offers but somehow it didn’t happen. When he agreed to fight Battling Jim for far less than $5K and was closer to $1K (and almost lost) but turned down an offer earlier that year to fight Jeanette for $20K, that should have been enough for anyone to be convinced he was ducking them. Imagine Fury turning down $100 million to fight Joshua so he can fight Charles Martin for $10 million instead. Not a good look.

How is he using the word 'actors'?

I know you said the conversation took place during a period when he was performing on stage. So his quip was somekind of a witty methorphor at that moment.

But I am curious as to what you think he meant by 'actors'.

Was he speaking of a segregation common to the theater or was he making a slur that he was following the previous champions (who played the same 'color linw game?)

Ah whatever. I just had to comment about your hate for a guy that's being dead nearly 80 years!
Jack, for all his faults, and everybody who's anybody has them, was a great champion, a great fighter and a courageous man.
To become champ when he did, with the way attitude s were back then, took so much.
Could you show the same guts?!
            I'm not sure.
Don't know why the venom but probably life experience s.

He obviously meant in reference to Vaudeville. An actor...as in the normal definition of the word. I don't think it's difficult to understand.

I would suggest both. His resume all but proves it, with the exception of Battling Jim who was an inferior fighter and a fight in which Johnson accepted far less than his usual demand of $30K.

When Johnson grew weary of Australian promoter McIntosh’s efforts to arrange a match with Langford, he admitted that he had no wish to face Langford again. “I don’t want to fight that little smoke,” said Johnson. “He’s got a chance to win against anyone in the world. I’m the first black champion and I’m going to be the last.”

You are obviously an Ivich alt, stop being a schizo Ivich, you aren’t fooling anyone aside from a low-quality, shiftless attrition poster who likes your verbal diarrhea.

Yes Burns was not only 168 pounds, but had a jaundice like you said. Battling Jim Johnson should have beaten Jack. One judge voted for Batting Jim the winner, the other to vote draw. Yes--Johnson took far less than 30k to fight Battling Jim. Closer to 1k like your said. And he fought Moran, Moran and didn't receive a dime! For shame. The fight was close. I think Johnson eged Moran, a run in then " mill " white hope " but like I said it was close and the ref let Johnson get sway with stuff. One time Johnson clearly hit Moran on the break. Nothing was done of course.
