Interesting thing though, when studies have been done in connection with political elections, people who are presented with unquestionable facts which they don’t believe in, become even more certain of their incorrect beliefs.

Perhaps some of my own beliefs are completely bananas. Sadly, I’m not aware of it.
Yeah, I asked a scientist I know online about that and he said it's due to something called confirmation bias, some kind of mental condition where people believe what they want to believe, from what I've read about it.

--- Ali and George fought in Zaire, and Ali was best buddy and housemate at the Royal Palace ruled by one of Africa's most muderous despots.

Lar had no problem disparaging Cooney for being white, so let's not act like these guys are all civil rights leaders.

We know MLK would've flown to SA in a heartbeat to address their congress.

There was no money in Gerrie fighting Lar in the US, but Weaver and Tate made their legends fighting Coetzee in SA and did more for SA civil rights than your poor dear Lar could ever scrounge up... Just the facts ma'am!

What do you make up lies and than push the goal posts back further when you've been proven wrong? Holmes had and still has a great respect for Cooney. And why does it matter where they fought? The fight was signed and fell through. That is no fault of either fighter. Maybe if Coetzee or any other of the WBA champs could have held on to the belt there could have been a unification. It's unfortunate they couldn't, but that has no bearing on Larry Holmes.

I love how you're claiming there was no money for Coetzee fighting Holmes in the US. He was set to make 3.5 million!! Would would that be equal to today given inflation? 15, 20 mil?

Yes, that's exactly what he does. For some reason, most people can't admit they're wrong, especially on the internet. As if they'd somehow break down, like an old robot.

Much respect for that. You don't see truer words here often.

--- money in boxing flows like rivers.

Bountiful times see it overflowing the "banks" whereas in summer drought it regresses to a stream. If you can't see the huge difference in the first offer Lar refused doing his fake MLK act and later US offers that dried up on the vine, no hope for you.

WBA champs lost because they were fighting each other while Lar was fighting noobs and Nancys.

Yet Holmes beat 3 men who either we're or future WBA champions. Lol, you keep on with you convoluted thinking, I stay with the reality of the situation.

                    --- Future, not current.

Never held more than a fraction if the title. Took a 20-21 yr old Tyson to clean out the stench of Lars decay and boxing's shame.

QueensburyRules won't give up until he has had the final word.
                      In a sense, he's a fighter.
