What I am saying is do not accept anything the NYSAC says about the Dempsey-Wills (non) fight at face value. It was Tammany Hall trying to make money off Wills. It had a singular agenda regarding Wills: A Dempsey-Wills fight in New York.

Wills was a New York celebrity. He use to help the gate at the charity fights (Milk Fund) merely by appearing as a guest Referee. He spent four years (1922-1926) being recognized by millions of New Yorkers as the uncrowned champion. Made good money, retired healthy and well. He was one of the lucky ones.

But he was the NYSAC's guy! Anything they might say about him is like listening to Sulaiman/King talk about Julio Cesar Chavez.

BTW does Jose Sulaiman have any testimonial awards I can point to? LOL

Well it seems really odd that the BWAA most prestigious award for honesty and integrity is named after that dude. Maybe that's hard to come by in boxing, but they were convinced that if anyone was the embodiment of it.....


But I'm still not getting you. I agree. He wanted the fight. Where does any guile, deceit, etc. on his part come into play? That's what I'm not following.
