It is? Pacquaio is better than Curry, Toney, Kalambay, or Watson? That's plenty debatable. LOL at calling Curry almost shot. The guy was still very capable against McCallum and was winning the fight prior to getting KO'd.

the fact that curry was doing well further shows us that Mike isn't of the very upper echelon.

And Mike never beat Toney did he?

Pacquiao is a greater fighter than anyone Mike has on his resume, I'm not even sure how thats debatable.

I really can't see how he was shot. Because Honeyghan beat him?

He was considered to be one of the top fighters in the world a year prior to the McCallum fight.

And McCallum definitely should have got one of the Toney's fights.

Barrera hols wins over Morales, Naz, McKinney, Croft, Kelley, Tapia and Ayala. In fact, imo, the wins over McKinney and Croft came when Barrera hadn't even hit his prime and in Naz and Morales he beat two p4p fighters of his generation.

let's not even talk about McCallum's victory over a smaller, almost shot Curry, he barely came back against Kalambay who was all but done by then and lost in the two biggest fights of his career in Jones and toney. He holds wins in 1 dimensional sluggers in Jackson and Collins. I'll give him credit for Watson of course, as well as Graham (b level fighter though) but his level of opposition and best wins are not comparable to Morales or Barrera, not to mention skill level and years spent at the championship level.

But I guess we'll just have to disagree.
You can't really try and give Morales credit for those guys then try and take credit away from Mccallum for his good wins. Ayala, Kelly and Tapia were pretty past it and out of their best weight classes.

Barrera has some excellent wins, but i always thought that morales' resume gets overrated since he was such a fan-friendly fighter... I felt Barrera won all 3 vs morales, and while morales was a great fighter, outside of the manny win, all his wins are either vs aging guys zaragousa or good but not great fighters like chavez and famoso....

Mccallum fought a bunch of top level guys and most were peaking or near prime... Julien Jackson was destroying fools till Mccallum beat him.. And mccallum just wasnt outpointing guys, he was stopping guys in dominant fashion...
Mccallum was able to hang with prime toney and prime roy, and both of those guys are much better than manny 05 that morales beat, as manny hadnt yet figured out the boxing part and was still a jab, jab, straight left fighter

I'm just gona disagree with u guys. On a final note:

Barrera and Morales not only have better resumes but they were more skilled too.

None of this is to say that Mike wasnt good but he just wasnt THAT good.

I think it is very close between McCallum, Barrera and Morales. That you could make a reasonable case for any order between the three.

Interesting thoughts about serg and lacair.. I see where serg should be dropped but unsure whether it should be for lacair.. I'm not too familiar with him... Maybe others can chime in to either support/not support lecair on the list..
I didn't have Laciar on my own list solely because of dates, the 1984 starting year basically cuts half way into Laciar's great championship career. That is probably the only good reason not to have him in the top 50 from 1984-2014. Then again his best wins probably fall within the cut off dates so maybe he does belong there.

I'm not saying he didn't, I'm saying Barrera and Morales were better, especially a prime Barrera.

In my life time, after Chavez, Barrera is the best mexican fighter I've seen.
