In my life time, after Chavez, Barrera is the best mexican fighter I've seen.
How many Mexican fighters have you watched?!

You're talking about the same guy who got two chances to handle Junior Jones and couldn't do it.

from the 90s till now, who has been better? Morales? No. Marquez? No. You wana maybe talk about Finito? Is that so? Well this is a guy who on more than one occasion defended his title against guys with single digit wins/fights LOL

I'm not pissing on Finito cos I know guys here love him and he was terrific to watch but his resume is threadbare, the old adage, "If you're undefeated, it's cos you ain't faced nobody" comes to mind.

So who exactly, since Chavez Sr has been a better fighter, from Mexico, then Barrera?

Please don't say Marquez for the Pac KO, tht will just make you seem silly.

Lopez is overated because he never lost. But friggen Alvarez made him look like crap.

Why not do some research? Olivares, Saldivar, Sanchez are greater than Barrera or Morales. Zarate is right there with them

        • I think Morales is greater than Barrera.

Barerra's great but his resume isn't too strong.

          • Morales can be easily rated above Barrera. I personally feel Barrera is actually the weakest of the three.

Barrera and Morales not only have better resumes but they were more skilled too.

None of this is to say that Mike wasnt good but he just wasnt THAT good.
They weren't more skilled than McCallum. That's pure bull****. McCallum was more diverse. He could fight any style. Counter puncher, brawler, boxer mover. He could do it all.

True. They can talk resumes all they want. I've seen all three fight live many times, and I'd rate McCallum the best of the three. It comes down to whether you follow boxing through Boxrec or whether you follow it by watching fights.

I still think McCallum had the better resume. You're right, he definitely has at least one of the Toney fights (the second fight, probably) and you can make a case for the first fight, maybe. McCallum beat Toney at least once, Jackson, Curry, Watson, McCrory, Kalambay, etc.

Barrera's resume is incredibly strong,, beat undefeated prince and undefeated morales both in their primes... Morales might match up better vs manny, but morales doesn't have any great wins besides that except for the highly controversial Barrera win..

I don't see how he can easily be rated higher than Barrera when Barrera beat him twice and arguably all three times..

I think morales gets rated higher by some due to his fan friendly style, but if you actually look at his resume, it's not superior to barrera's.. I don't see how a guy can get owned by another great fighter and still be considered the better fighter.. I can't think of any two greats that fought and had a clear winner in the rivalry but the loser being considered better.. Maybe bowe-Holyfield, pep-saddler

                    • IMO morales and Barrera are about even. Morales' win over pacquiao will stand the test of time as a truly great win. As will barreras over the prince.
