First of all the 130 class is BS there was no junior or super BS for titles until resent times so 130 pound Mayweather is a Lightweight at 135lbs!
    Lets see whose there to meet him;
    Battling Nelson (interesting)
    Ad Wolgast
    Benny Leonard
    Tony Canzoneri
    Henry Armstrong (Ha)
    Lou Ambers
    Sammy Angott
    Bea Jack (Hi Floyd)
    Bob Montgomery
    Ike Williams (bye Floyd)
    Joe Brown (wow)
    Carlos Ortiz
    Roberto Duran (nite Floyd)
..........heres a number of guys who fought from 126 through 147 but mostly at 135lbs. None of these men get steam rolled and easily out pointed by Mayweather, in fact theres match ups here where I think Floyd gets stopped and if he fought in the counter mover/counter punch style he's adapted now he wouldn't even get big fights that relyed on gate receipts. He'd be booed out of the venue!!
Floyd has trememdous eye hand talent, he does study his opponent and knows more about him than the opponent knows about himself! He's in excellant condition especially as an "older fighter" now! ..However!!

He does not fight anyone with power, he fights no one who will lay it all out to win. Floyd never over extends himself to win big, he'd rather play games and spar instead of eliminate!! Just these very simple and basic points I've made don't hold well against the likes of Ike or Bea or Duran or any of the other fighters who will lay it out on the line!
An older Mosley couldn't fall back to younger days, Osacar had the fight won but couldn't maintain focuss and wilted and I think Floyd knew he would!
Floyds good and in todays climate he's the best no doubts about it but in the history against the best at 135 he isn't the best!
You don't really want to get into the Best Welters do you???
Because there he gets stopped..............often! Ray.

I love this consensus that Floyd fights no one with power or anyone who lays it on the line. Explain corralled and Castillo then. Please.

Thats well over 10 years ago! Theres alot of events since then, have you ever seen anyone exhausted after fighting Mayweather? Has Mayweather ever been exhausted? These bouts are two steps away from being a dance contest! Are you going to tell me that Canelo is a big puncher too?
Did you see the effort that Robert put in against Berto?? What did Mayweather do to discourage Robert early in the fight to make him so tentitive? All of Floyds opponents have no way of earning what they earned with Floyd so they respectfully thank him. Fighters today who can fight a "purse" like Floyd will NEVER make that again and their thankfull and a few million goes along ways if a young man has the help to save and invest instead of betting on football!
You see these young fellows coming out of Russia who are putting their ballz down because their hungry, kids like Canelo have already tasted some fame and earned some money getting "home cooking" in Mexico. They ate at the big dinner and didn't want to be rude to their host!!!!!!
Offer Ike Williams a few million and I'm telling you he destroys lil Floyd!
Henry Armstrong????? Get serious these men fought to survive, Mayweather is a promoter masquerading as a fighter!!!! Ray

What does it matter if it was 10 years ago? We are discussing a Lightweight Mayweather which was about 10 years ago.

To answer your question about has a fighter been exhausted after fighting Mayweather; Yes, plenty.

I don't understand your point about Guererro. What are you saying?

The reason he was tentative because everytime he tried to force the action he missed and was getting tagged thus he was tentative to let his hands go. Berto's not Mayweather you can't fight Mayweather like Guererro fought Berto and have the same success.

If you think thast Robert put the same effort forward as he did with Berto you don't know much about effort! I could see it ihn Roberts eyes that night, he got the big fight and was happy just to be there!
These are intangibles that fan base folks don't see because they don't know it! 'If anyone thinks Mayweather handles the great fighters I mentioned thats fine. I don't think he stands up to very many of them and then theres the welter division that he would be "handled" easily!!
Imagine this lil tiny guy in with Robinson, Hearns, Leonard, Gavalin etc. hell he would be in even and actually deep with the Currys, Starlings, Tito etc.
This guy is barely 5' 7" and in top condition weighs 142-144lbs. he's a midget!
Same ol' hog wash about lil Floyd and Calzaghe and Wlad and all the "current superstars" against the real greats they'd be handling their bags! nite kidz!

I have personally spoken to Robert before and after the fight I assure you he genuinely saw hi,self as a righteous individual destined to win that night. After the fight he said that Floyd neutralized his attack and he just had no answer for him. I spoke to him personally on this. He broke it down further by basically saying he was quicker than he thought. He wasn't just happy to be there. Who are you to question that?

I'm glad you posted this. Mainly because I get sick of reading numerous post about how fighters don't pressure Mayweather or that they don't try. It's not that simple and anybody who claims they don't see how Mayweather makes it difficult for his opponents to do that is blinded by bias.

He lives I'm gilroy and my son lives there with his mother. He is very accessible. At san jose p.a.l he trained several times there back in97 98 when i was still trying to fight. He frequents a Denny's in the area near my son. I'm sorry I get sick of seeing these posters who never put on a pair of gloves in their life
                      Talk that nonsense.
