Frazier had the strength to deal with larger opponents like who? Buster Mathis? Wlad is a different animal physically than anybody Frazier fought and he makes no bones about it he doesn't fight on the inside.

Frazier would get a good body shot in here and there but eventually the fight would slow down and unless Wlad makes a mistake he can avoid the big left hand.

Muhammad Ali, who had very underrated strength. How is he going to avoid the left hand by leaning back? does he have the 60's Ali footwork to do this? no. Slowing down is not how its gonna happen, the first few rounds would be slow, but the pace will increase once Frazier starts smoking, if Frazier could slip Ali's jab and make him have to punch down to a lower target, .then he'll do the same to. After a few rounds of this Wlad would be reduced to a walk.

I agree Ali has underrated strength but its still nothing like Wlad. And Wlad can avoid the left hand just by fighting tall Wlad has to make a mistake to get caught. Ali caught Frazier with quite few right hands and even the biggest Wlad haters can see that Wlad has 1 punch Ko power in the right

The fight wouldn't slow down Wlad would. Fights are all about imposing your will and try to dictate the fight. Now Frazier is not going to gas, he won't fear Wlad, will be happy to take shots to land. Wlad has never fought anyone like that, his only hope is to take Frazier out early. Now to do that he is going to have to get in there and engage. He didn't seem too keen to do that against Haye as he was frightened of getting caught. So a high tempo fight which is going all the way? Got to favour Frazier in that

"Frazier employed simply mathematics to his fighting. A 5 to 1 ratio. He'd let you hit him 5 times, just to hit you once. And that would be enough."

For all the discussion in this thread, I'm thinking this is a real good point. WLad's chin is just too suspect IMO.

Wlad may have more strength but not his stamina or his ability to absorb punishment, especially to the body which he would need against Frazier, Wlad doesn't have the handspeed of Ali and he doesn't come for his opponent ala Foreman, which is why a destruction like ko isn't happening in the early rounds, which are Wlads best chances to win the fight, he's content to lay back and throw the jab and then the counter right, Frazier won't allow him to this, hes going to crowd him and take away his space, not to mention Frazier is relentless, will Wlad spend the hole fight trying to push Frazier off him? tying him up is difficult as in the second Ali fight he was able to let his hands go and back away to the body, Frazier will be hitting him everywhere, head body arms.... Wlad will get worn out.

You keep saying Wlad has never fought anyone close to Frazier when in fact he twice fought Lamon Brewster, one of the closest Frazier type fighters in the modern era. He even has a blind eye just like Joe. And I know some of you are going to come at me like "How daaaaaaare you compare Frazier to Brewster? How dare you?" all I have to say is U mad?

Anyway, since I brought this up, it actually makes Frazier's case stronger because Brewster beat a younger, less polished version of Wladimir. But like I said before, Wlad is going to make it boring fight, he WILL slow Frazier down. When Frazier gets that aggressive he will eat shots from a 6'6 245 pounder who is throwing DOWNWARDS. Frazier either slows down to get picked apart or gets himself ko'd.

Not mad, but amused. Brewster closest thing to Frazier in the modern era? Sorry but that's beyond ridiculous. Brewster only got a title shot because of Don King and the fact that you're comparing his skills with Frazier speaks for itself.
