Where Does Golovkin Rank Among The All Time Middles?

Its funny, if there is an historic archetype for middleweight its the iron jawed slugger who relies on his ability to punch more than his defense and slickness. Graziano, Ketchell, Lamotta, Tiger, Jackson, even Zale, Pavlik, and Steele kind of fit within this mold. GGG fits within it too. He is on par with most of those guys, some may be a little ahead, some a little behind, but as a tough punching machine he fits the MW mold to a tee.

You don't think Haglers path of destruction equals Golovkin? And i don't think Golovkin was a better boxer, though he did have great skills. Robinson has to rank ahead of Golovking just on who he beat, but i don't rate him as high at middle as many others.

Can you name a man at 160 who had GGG power level and skills which you call great who fogut at 160 of below? If you can, I'm thinking that guy must be special.

Contention am to be expected on boxing subjects, but amateur psychoanalysis of posters would not be missed. Style is style and everybody has one. Brawny am a man of boxing facts. I have noticed he probably has more of those than anyone here. He is also a highly reactive gentleman. Some people learn that and find glee in pushing buttons, like little children, just to see what will happen.

I have been through every stage around here. That is why I am on my 5th or 6th name. Some of the others were better handles. Jaded, I think, said I could have Slugfester back, but I never saw any action. I guess I would have to re-register under that name again, since it is long gone from my computer. If a fight is what someone wants they can make it here all the time. If they want reasonable discussion, that is available too, usually intermixed (poetic: immixed). You can be cats and dogs sometimes but sometimes only. Don't stay that way.

Middleweights Hagler, Robinson, Monzon and many others knocked out or stopped better fighters than Golovkin did with more skill. Golovkin never knocked out or stopped anyone better or even as good as Mustafa Hamsho. So you're overrating his power.

Below 160? Really? Too many to name but Thomas Hearns with better power and more skills. Roberto Duran, Arguello, I can go on and on.


Better question is, what elite fighters did Golovkin ever stop or knock out? I can name plenty of middleweights that accomplished that. Can you for Golovkin?
